Look, I didn't watch the thing, but they usually do a pre-interview ahead of time.

If the Smart girl didn't want to be reminded of her ordeal, her best bet would have been to skip the interview in the first place.

It's not like people don't know how the Nancy Grace and Rita Cosby types operate. They're gonna pluck that string and pull that chain...it's what they do.

12. OK, I did. I didn't think it was as outrageous as everyone is making it

out to be.

What I think happened here is that the preinterviewer did not tell Nancy Grace that Miss Smart did not want to talk about these things, OR Miss Smart did not tell the preinterviewer that those things were off limits.

There is no way that Nancy Grace or her producers would be rolling all that footage if they expected to be cut off at the knees like that, and there is no way she would have prepared a line of questioning that she knew she couldn't pursue--that's an invitation to dead air.

And I notice that Nancy did change the subject after she got her button buzzed twice.

Occasionally I stick around long enough to see breaking news, but so much of what they do is pure crap. It's really sad. Keith Olberman is the only reason I ever turn on MSNBC, too.
