What's all the rapture stuff lately?
Seeing a lot of threads talking about faking raptures and rapture diaries and things like that. Did I miss something? Will I be left behind?

1. LOL..it's tied in with what is going on in the Middle East
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 11:15 AM by jonnyblitz
Rapture fundies believe this is the beginning of the end times so they are cheerleading for it. meanwhile their jewish counterparts think they are being sincere in their support when they are being used as pawns in the end times scenerio..

3. I thought it happened to my kids...
I saw the pile of clothes and the empty shoes...and then I realized that's the way their rooms look all the time.

13. But but but
according to the fundies, Jews will ultimately end up in hell if they don't "come to Jaysus"...

4. In case of the rapture... can I have my country back
Will Pitt pegged it in an article earlier in the week.

There is a website called rapture ready where people are basically pulling up a chair and eating popcorn waiting for the 2nd coming. They are honestly putting off vacations and moves b/c they think the end is nie. Freaks.

5. Yep. The Rapture's imminent.
Last I heard it will happen sometime before Labor Day.

Don't worry about next month's utility bills, either.

!

The nutcases of every age hype End Times.

None of them has been right so far.

7. Yup, you're going to be left behind
Even READING DU, much less posting, is an automatic disqualifier. Besides, all 144,000 seats in heaven are already spoken for. 359,000 times over.

12. It's so funny seeing the women in raptures (pun intended)
about this. Because the 144,000 places in heaven are all reserved for males. VIRGIN males.

9. The Funniest Thing Is
There is absolutely no Biblical support for anything remotely resembling 'The Rapture.' The whole thing is the (possibly drug-induced) fantasy of an 18th Century English preacher - who thought it was just around the corner. Real Christians know that Jesus taught that no man - not even The Son, but only The Father - could know The Day.

11. Feh! I say the Rapture already happened...
... just to mess with the fundies' heads. Love the look on their faces when they pause to consider that they're still here -- and what that implies...

14. For Apocalyptic relief, try following "Odyssey of the 8th Fire"
Odyssey of the 8th Fire is the true epic tale
of a pilgrimage across America
by people of all colors and faiths
under the sky sign of the Whirling Rainbow
and the Algonquin teachings of the Seven Fires.

This true story will be blogged on this site (below) day by day
until February 2, 2007.

18. The "Rapture" is bullshit. It's a con job by certain fundies.

Suggest you get the book and see for yourself. Rev. Dr. Rossing dissects Revelation in the Bible and shows it to be a book of hope, not of holocaust.

And BTW, "apocalypse" does not mean "holocaust". It means "revelation".
