Out of all the offensive things Bush does, saying "shit" doesn't register.
Being a mass murderer is way more offensive than saying "shit".

I'm not going to pretend to be outraged by this. Bush is a little frat boy, and this little show was proof of that. This is the man, like it or not, that represents you and I to the world.

After everything he's done, I'm not sure why him saying "shit" is newsworthy.

1. The "shit" wasn't the problem.
The freeper-esque level of understanding of international issues, however, was something troubling.

4. The lip smacking, chewing with his mouth open and talking while eating
were disgusting. :puke:

3. An open mic is always newsworthy
And the Blair/W private discussion of the events is interesting. Beyond that, I could care less. I appreciated the posting of the transcript.

6. It was his arrogant ignorace and lack of table manners ...showing the
world that he thinks he can behave any way he wants and act as dumb as he wants to appeal to his "base" and show everyone that he will do what he wants whenever and wherever it pleases him.

He is the face of the New America where any kind of behavior goes. And, he probably thinks it will strike fear in the heart of the world.

I hate to think about the way the rest of his administration behaves if this is what he wants to project and has gotten away with it. But, then we folks here have known what he was since he was "Selected."

7. I Am Not Outraged By The Word In Any Way.
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 11:53 AM by DistressedAmerican
I am outrages by the sentiments behind the comments. The stupid, blind faith by the right that there is only one side to blame for all of this violence and if they would just accept their second class citizen status all would be well.

That is bullshit. It is dangerous. It does nothing but extend and flame the violence.

That is what I find offensive in the comments.

Shit, I like the word Shit! Use it regularly.

9. lol You may have a point.
It's not everyday we get footage of a mass murder in the same room with world leaders.

11. It makes no difference to me if he uses the word "shit."
The rest of the transcript, and the portion not being played or covered on the news, is much more revealing. Here's a supposed world leader informing his peers that Russia and China are "big" and that it's going to take him eight whole hours to get home. He has the mentality of a five year old. That's where the focus should be.

If he swore like a sailor around his staff or either of his two wives, then really - who cares? Many people swear in private.

But would you go into a business luncheon, stuff your yap full of dinner rolls and stammer and swear and act like a complete uncomprehending asshole? Hopefully not. This man was with world leaders and did this! And his actions don't just reflect his own boorishness - he's a representative of us all, whether we voted for the clown or not.

I agree that his blood lust is far worse, but the minimum we should expect from a president when he represents us overseas are SOME FUCKING TABLE MANNERS and perhaps something a little loftier than, "Yo, Blair"..."Russia's a big country"...et al.

13. Its just another small but vivid reminder of his defective personality...
...and inability to mature and grow. He's been titular president for over five years, yet he still hasn't mastered even the smallest decencies that any civilized human performs without blinking.

Plus, the simple-mindedness of his foreign affaris "analysis" shows he is mentally still the empty-headed, ignorant oaf who bumbled our way into the quagmire in Iraq, didn't even know there were different Muslim factions such as Shiites and Sunnis, etc.

14. Obsessively talking about the pig roast 5 times on Friday while
the Middle East (habituated by both fundamentalist Jews and Muslims who abhor pork for religious reasons) was in flames was more offensive.

17. Right!!!! That's the point! It's a one-way street for these jerks...
If * says "shit,", or Cheney says "Go fuck yourself," it's laughed off by the right wing and their lapdog media.

But if Dean, or Kerry, or Edwards had uttered **any*** of these words, the mock outrage b.s. from the right would have buried a herd of elephants. :grr:

16. Not just the word, the whole trip was offensive....
The world is burning and all the while he behaves like the uncaring unthinking miserable drunk that he is. He was rude, disrespectful, uninformed, and aloof. I'm extremely offended by this man, everything he says, does and is.

18. His manner of talking with a mouthful of food was much worse to witness...
for being in the presence of the world leaders, he surely displayed no eating manners, grace -- he must have been putting on his "cowboy" act -- what an inferior complex the man has!
