Is Senator Kerry hypocritical for not supporting Joe Lieberman?
After all, Kerry voted for IWR. Kerry voted for the Patriot Act. During the 2004 campaign, Kerry said he would have voted the same way in 2003 knowing now what he knows then (granted the question was posed by Bush and then asked by a reporter, but he should have known what the right answer was).

If Kerry wants Joe Lieberman to be kicked out of the Senate for his war support, he should look into the mirror himself.

1. half of why Lieberman is disliked over Senators who vote similarly
is because he's an arrogant ass.

2. Absolutely, Kerry's a hypocrite
He should disappear himself into the darkest dungeons of his French ancestral home.

You on the other hand, are you hypocritical for saying that any Senator has said Lieberman should be kicked out of the Senate for his war support? Or maybe there's another word that describes it better.

4. Kerry and Feingold will not endorse Lieberman
This is a fact. Feingold's opposition seems grounded in principle. Kerry's does not.

8. Of course not
We already established that Kerry's a hypocrite.

You, on the other hand, still haven't answered why you're making shit up out of thin air.

19. Lieberman attacked Kerry's Iraq withdrawal plan unfairly.
And Kerry is not endorsing ANYONE in a Dem primary except the fighting Dem vets as part of the Fighting Dem campaign to get more vets into office.

Why have you decided to target Kerry on this?

3. 2004 Kerry quote -in my memory - was based on what little he was told
in 2003 -

later he said, again based on my memory, that had he known the truth, he would have voted no on the IWR.

Do you have a reference for my memory being incorrect?

Not that my memory is perfect - I just do not recall the Kerry 2004 interview as you do.

5. Here's a reference
To my recollection, Edwards said his vote was a mistake.

Kerry stands by 'yes' vote on Iraq war

9. Kerry came around as well
"My friends, war is no excuse for its own perpetuation," Kerry said before a group of cheering liberal activists who had gathered in Washington yesterday for a 'Take Back America' conference. "It is essential to acknowledge that the war itself was a mistake -- to say the simple words that contain more truth than pride. . . . It was wrong and I was wrong to vote for that Iraqi war resolution."

13. As DUer Charlie above notes-Kerry says IWR vote was wrong - and
while not mentioned directly in either your quote or the 2006 Kerry quote re "it was wrong", the reason is for the change is the fact that Bush lied as to the situation and Bush had information at the time telling himself it was a lie - while Kerry and the rest had to rely on what Bush said or showed them in briefings.

Hillary has not - YET - said that, had she known the details Bush knew, she would have not gone to war - BUT - she has come on board for pull out - soon - after giving current Iraq Gov a short amount of time to tale over - but no deadline.

Joe says his IWR vote was correct then and based on today's knowledge remains correct and that we are to remain in Iraq for as long as necessary - forever if necessary - because our being part of the civil war there is so important to our National Security.

22. So....did you somehow manage to skip all of 2005?
Why are you attacking Kerry on this? If you really were keying on all of Kerry's words, you'd know he came out with his first withdrawal plan for Iraq in Oct2005 and stated he regretted that he ever trusted Bush with that vote. He's also said it aboout a half-dozen times since. Gee...how could you have missed all that with your antiKerry focus in full drive?

.....control the laughter as you typed out that question so I will answer in like manner.

:sarcasm: Of course Kerry is hypocritical for not supporting Lieberman. Poor Joe Lieberman is out there trying to campaign all on his lonesome having people tell him how much of a neocon wannabe he is. That is just horrible, don't you think??:sarcasm: :sarcasm:

is to let the voters of Connecticut decide who they want representing them in the United States Senate. Maybe you're confusing hypocrisy with democracy.

16. Did Lieberman go to senate floor and attack Kerry's withdrawal plan first?
Funny how you choose to attack Kerry on this. From all your past posts against him that are supposedly from the left, one would believe you're now more angry about Kerry's withdrawal plan for Iraq than you are against Joe Lieberman's attack on Kerry's plan.

Kerry didn't say he wouldn't support Joe - he said he'd support the Dem primary winner. Why does that bother you so much?

20. No, he's not a hypocrite
Are we talking about SENATOR Kerry here? A good Democrat doing a good job in Massachusetts? Or is this the 2008 potential prez runner Kerry we're talking about? Are the comments here pointed at the fear he will run again? Or is this a real discussion about the possibility that John Kerry perhaps realizes that it's never too late to see the reality of a situation and make the right choices? I, for one, will not attack Senator Kerry, as I have done in the past. He's a great senator, and I hope he keeps up the good work. And no, I don't think he's a hypocrite. It takes a lot of courage to admit a mistake, change course, and work to make corrections.

25. No - he said he won't choose sides in the primary but will support the Dem
winner. After Lieberman came out and attacked Kerry's withdrawal plan for Iraq in such a pointed way a few weeks ago, I think Kerry took the right position.

he still supports the war.

And Kerry didn't say he doesn't support Lieberman. He supports whoever wins the primary. Are you assuming it WON'T be Lieberman?

He supports the democratic process.
