Masters of Horror: Homecoming is out on DVD now
Not sure if all of you saw this, but it was on during a Showtime free preview and a bunch on DU posted about it. Here's an IMDB review excerpt:

"They parody Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, George W. Bush, and Cindy Sheehan. They use such phrases as "Bring It On", "Mission Accomplished", etc... They give homage to such luminaries as Jacques Tourneur, George A. Romero, Jean Yarbrough and Delbert Tenney.

And there's zombies.

While the horror aspect is minor (no gore or psychological stuff or anything like that), the political satire is brilliant if you have a slightly left-wing bias. The way they present the Iraq War and the Ohio voting machine scam in here is precious.

What to say? It's short, it's funny and it has zombies. Think I covered my bases. Not sure if it will have the long-lasting appeal of Joe Dante's other work (The Howling and Gremlins) but for now it really made me feel good to be an American."

And the page:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0643105/

I remember how good it felt to see all the RW people eaten by zombies. A kind of guilty pleasure : )

1. I'm surprised the IMDB 'I'm so offended' crew isn't foaming at the mouth
AKA Freeptards aren't giving this the same treatment they did Coulbert's page or "V for Vendetta's."

7. Go buy some copies to replace the burned ones...
if can be had for $9.99 at Target and the 3 hours of extras is well worth it.

8. I was already planning on doing so.
Hubby and I have had a great time watching it 3-4 times. It feels so good to find something in the 'MSM' that is real and funny, and can be shared w/ even RWers (they enjoy the humor, even if they don't get the point).

PS - give me a snippet of the 'extras'.

10. Thanks for the heads up -
mr. blm and I have watched 6 of the MoH series and plan to see every one.

Horror movies have always been pretty political - the really good ones, anyway.

BTW....Cigarette Burns is just incredibly chilling.
