Question for Vets of Iraq or recent vets.

My best friend's boyfriend,an officer, just got deployed to Iraq. His passion is good bourbon....is he allowed to recieve a package with a pint of booze in it?

1. You cannot

send alcohol through the mail, it is against the law. I have heard of people emptying Listerine bottles and filling them with whisky. Gads a war without cheap booze...I'd never have made it.

2. No, however..

Ask him first, but if you send a normal care package, (i.e. Bake goods, tooth paste, etc) and put the bourbon in a bottle of Listerine, it will normally get by. However, depending on his unit, he could get in a lot of trouble if caught.

3. Sending booze to the middle east?

That's brave... Remember that some Muslim countries forbid alcohol.

I wouldn't do it. I had a relative in Iraq for the first saga back in the 90's and we used to empty bottles of Listerine and add Bacardi Gold :evilgrin: But he could have gotten in so much trouble if they find out.
