Cannabinoids halt pancreatic & breast cancer growth according to
studies cited by NORML weekly newsletter. Now of course this is not a cure, but I wonder how quickly a cancer cure could be found if medical studies could be done without these artificial restrictions engendered by the US Government & Big Pharma.

5. I remember one of the big "arguments" against marijuana
was that it had "no medicinal value". Well, that and it was a "gateway drug". But studies just keep on finding more and more medicinal uses. Yet, doctors still can't prescribe it.

As for the "gateway drug" claim:

Interviewer: You're addicted to heroin, correct?
incarcerated heroin addict:Yeah, I done everything.
Interviewer: Did you ever smoke pot?
incarcerated heroin addict:Yeah, I done everything.
Interviewer: You've never tried heroin, correct?
random pothead: No, man. I ain't never done any illegal drugs. Or anything illegal.
Interviewer: So, you've never tried pot, either. Correct?
random pothead: No, man. I ain't never done any illegal drugs. Or anything illegal. Can I go now?
researcher: Aha! This PROVES smoking pot leads to becoming a heroin addict!

9. I forgot that one!
Of course, cigarettes wouldn't be as bad if it weren't for the additives. Still dangerous, but not as bad (he says reaching for his pack of Basic Menthol Lights....).

16. It only has medicinal uses if a drug company can patent and sell it
It's absurd that it's not legal.

12. I think they should do a study of treating Adult Attention Deficit
with marijuana.

In my younger days (pot just puts me to sleep, now), I remember 2 friends in particular that smoked pot constantly. As much as I liked to "party", I just couldn't stay high all the time like they could. They especially liked getting high before work, because they said they could concentrate better and work better. I tried working while high once - never again!!!!!

Since pot wasn't always available, I also knew them when they were straight. I have to admit, smoking pot just seemed o make them more "normal".

This was long before Attention Deficit Disorder was discovered. Since then, I have become much more familiar with ADD, and have even been able to diagnose it myself (on my suggestion, that person was tested and was officially diagnosed with ADD).

Recently, thinking back on those 2 old friends, I realized that THEY had ADD! They smoked pot as a means of self-medication for a condition no-one as yet knew existed. And it worked!

15. Just curious - Have you ever been tested for ADD?
Seriously, I've noticed that when different people say "it helps me focus" there really is a DIFFERENCE in what they mean.

I think ADD and ADHD tends to be "over-diagnosed" in children, with a lot of "professionals" slapping the label on them without doing a little more work and digging a little deeper and finding out what the REAL problem is (which seems to be common in the entire medical field).

Here's a pretty good test that COULD indicate you MAY have ADD/ADHD. I recommend that you take the test yourself, and also give it to several other people that know you well (and can be objective) and then compare scores. You might want to do a "high" vs "non-high" comparison. Remember, the results don't mean you ARE ADD or ADHD, it just means that you MIGHT be.

Hmmm, maybe we could start a "research thread" with people posting their "high" vs "not high" results. Could be a lot of fun, and may have some interesting results. Anyway, here's the link to the test:

18. No, haven't been tested formally, took the test & the scoring part was
somewhat unclear to me. It did not indicate a very strong tendency. I have always been a notorious procrastinator.

17. Actually, you know what works for me at times?
MDMA.
However, pot puts me to sleep.
I have ADD,but not ADHD. I do think it very much depends on the person, but I believe all avenues should be tried.
