Recent polls in the Lamont/ Lieberman race?
Haven't been able to find any. But I just finished watching the debate live, and Joementum sure seems skeert. Are the polls showing him losing to this "upstart?":sarcasm: God, I hope so. Lamont was refreshing, sincere, and, for a political novice, polished.:toast: Good job, Mr. Lamont!

1. I was pleasantly surprised by Lamont's performance. Joe came off
as a tired, cynical pro. Ned was fresh and on fire.

2. Is Joe acting so defensive because polls
are showing him losing? I admit that I haven't followed this race much until tonight.

3. One poll showed Lieberman up 46-40 or so... I think it was Rasmussen.
Others show a slightly wider lead for Lieberman, but the point is that Lamont wasn't even on the radar a few months ago. He is surging now and Lieberman's own internal polls must surely have told him that he was very vulnerable to Lamont in the August 8 primary.

Now that the debate is done, the next poll will be very telling.

5. Yes, indeed.
I was very impressed by Lamont, and I'm sure most of the Democratic viewers were too. It was a great showing.

10. And from the on-line polls MSNBC and at least one local CT station
are running, Lamont is winning big there, by numbers like 79 - 19 % over Joe.

So it's not just our enthusiasm here on DU in those votes. They must be coming in from all over the country.

11. Hi, Olney Blue. Nice to bump into you tonight.
The new avatar is a hurricane flag.

It's hurricane season and I've always been drawn by sea storms.

Although it's fallen out of official use, many ports still use a double-flag of a black square inside the scarlet rectangle, one atop the other, to alert all ships of approaching cyclones.

13. one flag = full gale warning; two flags = hurricane warning

(I get a little salty when I see these flags and pennants.) :silly:

I used to think "One pennant? Whoopee!" and "One flag? Uh-oh!" :dunce:

16. Hey TahitiNut. Howdy. Yep. If it's a double flag, it's time to
assume Bush and Heckuvajob Brownie won't be around to bail anybody out.

The Blue Peter leads my favorites for nautical signals. But I opted this time for the red-n-black.

As Jimmy Buffett puts it, "You just can't reason with the hurricane season."

8. But probably fairly similar to the typical primary voter
Unless of course Diebold initiates the Joementum subroutine.
