Uh-huh. This guy MIGHT know something about dogs, but his knowledge of politics seems woefully limited. What do you want to bet someone like Alito would be for LESS stringent punishments for these sorts of crimes?

How did I find this? Well, my wife called me as she was getting off work. Apparently Christine Gregoire, the WA State governor, just got herself a new Shiba Inu puppy. Wonderful. I've got one myself--well, he's a far cry from a puppy now, but you get my meaning.

Shibas can be wonderful dogs...but they are NOT for the uninformed. A shiba pup is VERY cute and she apparently appeared on television with her new pup today. As people who have worked in shiba rescue for the last several years, the last thing we want to see is a bunch of folks seeing a cute puppy on TV and thinking "I've gotta get me one of THOSE."

Shibas are a primitive breed, and notoriously persnickity. Ours is something of a freak, being that he doesn't SCREAM when you cut his toenails or try to give him a bath. He actually handles it quite well...having learned over the years that patient resignation is a far better path.

I was looking for a news story in print and was planning on writing a short note to the governor...welcoming her to the wonderful world of shibas, and giving her a few pointers about the breed. My wife and I are rather well known in the rescue community for handling problem shibas. Well, more my wife, since she's the one that does the lists, while I'm spending the time dealing with political issues.

Anyway. I googled the governor's name and Shiba Inu, and this guy's blog popped up.

What a goofball. I was tempted to add a comment, but decided I'd better not. Figured I'd share it with you all instead.
