6. Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann are safe,
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 08:40 PM by Eric J in MN
but the other hosts aren't.

From
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/26/business/media/26msnbc.html?ei=5094&en=bb5a7429eb4bd81b&hp=&ex=1151294400&partner=homepage&pagewanted=all

One senior NBC executive said, "There will probably be one to two hours of long-form taped shows every night in prime time." The executive spoke on condition of anonymity because the decisions were not final and would affect some of the prime-time hosts, like Rita Cosby, Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough, now working on the channel.

Two of the channel's hosts, Chris Matthews of "Hardball" and Keith Olbermann of "Countdown," clearly will not be affected, because MSNBC's managers consistently cite those programs as long-sought breakthroughs.

"We've just got to build on those two shows," Mr. Griffin said, sitting beside Mr. Abrams in the conference room at MSNBC. "It's critical. We have to capitalize on their success."

18. Tweety is a piece of shit
I don't watch his show, either the daily show or his weekend show. This weekend, I was channel surfing and just happen to stop on CNBC(I think it was, but I am not sure). He had sully and Joe Klein and some else, but I remember only those two. I think Tweety was telling a story of having toured the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock. Tweety was relaying how Clinton lays blame on repukes that impeached him. Tweety thought it funny and tried to get his panel to agree with him. They did, but Klein layed a lot of the blame on repukes.
I saw a CSPAN tape of the ceremony for the memorial at Columbine. Clinton was there. I saw only a few minutes of it. Its funny how much Clinton is loved away from DC. He can give a good speech, as he usually does. When I see Clinton give one of his thoughtful, moving speeches, I am always struck with comparing how the beltway whores treated him, and how they treat chimpie. I'll go to my grave, never understanding it. chimpie can just barely speak English. Clinton can speak very good English, as befitting a Rhodes Scholar and a graduate of Yale Law. One has to be bewildered by the whores' system of values.

Of course, one to two hours a night of Olbermann would be OK--I can't catch his show all the time.

19. Central time, KO is on when we are eating supper and cleaning up.
At 10, we are getting ready for bed and taping the Daily show. All I ever see on that stupid network is tweety, scarborough, and 1/2 second of Rita C before I put my fingers in my ears and sing La-La-la-la-la while clicking the button hysterically.

33. what does it say about your prime-time lineup if 1-2 hours of it,
five nights a week, is "Lockup is Prison X"? The least they could do is give us an update on how the Halliburton detention camps are coming along. :sarcasm:

30. to "capitalize on their success"...
They just need to put people on who will TELL THE TRUTH.

How simple is that? Give Randi Rhodes and Rachel Maddow some air time, (I gotcher ratings right here)

21. Imus is the most obnoxious rude uncouth
"talk show host" I've ever seen.He sits there with that uncombed hair sticking out of his over sized hat insulting everyone he can think of while pulling his chewing gum out of his mouth and placing it on his desk. Then,a few minutes later he picks it up and sticks it back in his mouth. I've seen him string it in and out of his mouth before sticking in on his desk. I've seen him sit there and cram donuts in his mouth and licking his fingers. These are things that shouldn't be done on national television. I almost vomited watching him. I can't watch him he is so mean and nasty...and he has the manners of a pig. :puke:

Slobber mouth Matthews is as revolting as Imus. I can't for the life of me understand why these rude mean and nasty people have these jobs on national TV where they are seen world wide. It sure makes our country look like we are all a bunch of mean spirited slobs. It's embarrassing as hell.

I don't put it on loud enough to really hear what they are saying. It puts me back to sleep. The Keith Olbermann Opening theme wakes me.

26. What is amazing is they would replace boring people....
that people don't want to see or hear, with boring tapes that people don't want to see or hear, rather than hire an actual journalist or someone who can hold their viewers.

It's not like Donohue and KO didn't teach them that there is an audience with an IQ above a turnip who would relish hearing straight unbias news reported.

31. Their competition isn't, like they think, CNN or Fox per se; it is
reality-based shows. MSNBC will NOT beat "Treasure Hunt", "America's Got Talent", "Project Runway", "So You Think You Can Dance", "TAR", ETC.

They can keep Tucker or not; show taped shows or not; it's all whistling past the graveyard if they do NOT opt for what is truly missing from prime-time TV: In-depth NEWS.

And I don't mean stories about catching your friendly neighborhood pedophile-wanna-be.

32. MSNBC to launch season of reality-tv news shows!
"K Street Survivor" -- generate that graft or be voted off the firm! The winner picks up all of Grover Norquist's clients once the rotund, corrupt little crook is frog-marched away.
"The Amazing Racists" -- it's Minutemen vs. Skinheads to see who's the Whitest of them all!
"Big Brother 2006" -- employees of the executive branch compete to create the government program that can strip Americans of the most constitutional rights!
"The Joe Shmoe Show 3" -- on the trail with Joe Lieberman!
