Why is it Republicans hate taxes but love fees
Name one fee they have cut or even have not raised. They cut taxes and raise fees. They love fees and establish them at evey opportunity. Wake up America....

1. it has to do with marketing
they can sell user fees but not taxes. It's divide and conquer - people don't care if the government raises a fee for something they don't use and those that use the service aren't a large enough group to mount any defense.

3. Has your registration fee for your car gone up?
Hunting license, fishing license, boat launching permit fee, Forest Service cabin use fee, National Park entrance fee, etc. etc. ?

8. User fees don't generally apply across the board
so they're a little more palatable to morons who think it's only the other guy who gets hit when the fees all get hiked.

We've seen fees for licensing of everything from cars to professions in this state jump 50%-100% since Stupid took office.

4. Fees are also a "flat tax"
They object to taxes being higher based on higher income.

6. Bill Clinton did the same thing on the federal level.
My wife's green card cost a small fortune in fees.

That's because he promised not to raise taxes.
He didn't say anything about fees. And I have heard him address the issue of raising fees. Of course, the press will ask if a Democrat does it, but not if a repuke does it.

I will take Rod over Judy any day. Do you want Judy, even if she is a moderate? Do you want someone so closely associated with the corrupt Ryan? Do you want her to bring in all her repuke cronies and end what little power Democrats have in this current culture of corruption? We have to keep our gains at the state level. It is the only place we have gotten them in recent years.

7. Because fees are a regressive tax. Shift more and more.....
of the tax burden to the poor. Keep your eyes open for the "value added" tax. Abolish the income tax and the IRS and shift everything to retail tax. Walmart can become the new IRS! This is the ultimate goal. The rich will only pay taxes on what they consume (which is nothing to them) and WE will be squeezed more and more as they raise taxes on everything we need to buy. Another reason they support fees is the secret plan to privatize EVERYTHING. Think about it. If they privatize the freeways, for instance, they will need to collect TOLL FEES to profit from it.

10. Their idea of "fair" ...
... is sharing a vacation home where they get the master bedroom and pay the same 'share' as the couple who get the floor of the garage in sleeping bags.

They're like the creeps who split the tab for lunch "equally," after they've devoured a filet with a bottle of wine and you had a small salad and a glass of water.

14. The rich are afraid they might help someone else.
They constantly cry about taxes, I listen to it constantly. They live in luxury but they are obsessed with money. They will bitch about a ten dollar charge, but think nothing about spending a thousand dollars on a hotel suite. They are simply GREEDY. If someone is starving-they deserve it, they are lazy.

I will never forget the comment I heard after Katrina-"That's what happens when people choose not to work." It sums it up perfectly.

btw, Binka rocks!

15. To their view, fees are fair
because they are paid by the person who uses the service.

Income taxes are unfair because it takes the money from hard-working Americans therefore discouraging hard work, and gives the money to lazy welfare queens, therefore encouraging laziness.

16. 'know the price of everything and the value of nothing'
it was said on DU about Republicans once.

Maybe they'd rather pay $5 to enter a state park than risk paying $6 in taxes to live in a place where state parks are open to all.
