1. Baloney. All they found are a bunch of old, useless chemicals
that are probably left over from the 80's or that the US gave to SH.

"We found a cup of...something. Not sure what, but lets call it WMDs." Of course your going to find reminats you moron. Iraq, at one point in time, had the same kind of ChemWeapons program everyone else had!! And some of us, still have the shit laying around!

Santorum and Coulter practice Satanic Ritual Sex together, during black mass the entire GOP joins in.

Note: I am not saying Satanism is wrong, but when you picture those sick bastards doing it, it becomes very wrong.

18. Think Progress has the facts...
Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) took to the microphone today to announce a shocking discovery — that WMD have been found in Iraq:

Congressman Hoekstra and I are here today to say that we have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons. … Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq’s pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist.

The Bush administration commissioned the Iraq Survey Group to determine whether in fact any WMD existed in Iraq. After a year and half of digging around Iraq, here’s what the administration’s own inspectors reported:

While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991. There are no credible Indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter, a policy ISG attributes to Baghdad’s desire to see sanctions lifted, or rendered ineffectual, or its fear of force against it should WMD be discovered.

The White House should immediately announce whether it stands with Santorum or whether it stands behind the review conducted by Charles Duelfer. Recall, in October 2004, Bush said of Duelfer’s analysis:

The chief weapons inspector, Charles Duelfer, has now issued a comprehensive report that confirms the earlier conclusion of David Kay that Iraq did not have the weapons that our intelligence believed were there.

Fox News isn’t waiting for an administration statement. Their right wing pundits are already peddling the story as truth.

25. Three things of note from the past:
Edited on Wed Jun-21-06 06:17 PM by higher class
1. In those months before the invasion when everyone on DU knew that they were going in - when Congress pretended as though they were seeking permission....there was talk about Rumsfeld and Cheney having to get back into Iraq to 'take care' of some 'stuff' that was left in Iraq from Gulf War I.

2. Early in the weeks following Shock and Awe, there were news releases about some soldiers getting very sick after 'moving' some stuff from one place to a safer place within Iraq.

3. And some once posted that there were contract civilians hanging around in bars in Kuwait waiting to move wmd's into Iraq - quite a while back.

Then, there was something about standing down on dragging out phony wmd's.

So who are you going to trust to tell you what it is and where it is supposed to have come from? Our military and AEI/AIPAC planning committees - or - UN Blix type people?

The last people I want to hear from care Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice, Hadley, Bolton and some others. George - ya - let him tell us about it with accompanying scientific explanation.

(guess I'm feeling cynical again - I wasn't for two hours - I wasn't near the propaganda)

This is a pack of lies. Old artillery shell husks do not constitute WMD's. These rusting shells are ancient and of no military value. Saddam probably would have gladly given them to the UN for destruction. These things would have been a useless liability lying around in some bunker. My guess is the Iraqi's either just hadn't gotten around to destroying them, completely lost track of them, or due to the embargo lacked the resources to destroy them properly.

Total BS. Obvious Republican desperation.

61. Look at the dates on your figures my freeper friend.....
..and then look at the IAEA website a bit more carefully. This procurement was all pre-gulf I. What wasn't distroyed on that war was destroyed by weapons inspectors in the following years, you idiot. You provided us with the facts to disprove your nonsense. Thanks.

As for your book...well, you can bet that if it were true, the WH spin machine would have been working overtime to make sure the public had these facts.

You are a tool, fool.

From the website you so graciously linked to disprove your own "facts:"

III - IAEA Achievements in Iraq

Iraq

Procurement and production of uranium compounds

Removed all known weapon usable materials

All known indigenous facilities capable of producing uranium compounds useful to a nuclear programme were destroyed during the Gulf War; IAEA inspected and completed the destruction of facilities; IAEA monitored the sites as part of their OMV activities.

Took custody of all known imported compounds and indigenously produced uranium compounds

Industrial-scale facilities for the production of uranium compounds suitable for fuel fabrication or isotopic enrichment

All known indigenous facilities capable of producing uranium compounds useful for fuel fabrication and for isotopic enrichment were destroyed during the Gulf War; IAEA inspected and completed the destruction of facilities; IAEA monitored the sites as part of their OMV activities.

R&D of indigenous uranium enrichment technologies

Destroyed, removed, or rendered harmless all known single-use equipment used in enrichment R&D

Destroyed all known facilities and equipment for the enrichment of uranium

Subjected to ongoing monitoring and verification all facilities and known dual-use equipment capable of being used in enrichment R&D
Design and feasibility studies for an indigenous plutonium production reactor Inspections revealed no indication that Iraq's plan for an indigenous plutonium production reactor proceeded beyond feasibility study.

R&D of irradiated fuel reprocessing technology

The relevant facilities at Tuwaitha used for irradiated fuel reprocessing R&D were destroyed during the Gulf War

R&D of weaponisation capabilities for implosion-based nuclear weapons

Destroyed the principal buildings of Al Atheer nuclear weapons development and production plant.

Destroyed, removed, or rendered harmless all known purpose-specific equipment

A "crash programme" aimed at diverting safeguarded research reactor fuel and recovering the HEU for use in a nuclear weapon

The chemical processing plant was destroyed during the Gulf War; IAEA monitored sites with relevant capabilities as part of their OMV activities.

Verified, accounted for, and recovered the entire inventory of research reactor fuel

Arranged for removal of all HEU fuel from Iraq

70. And who appointed Santorum as official spokesperson?
He must be hoping he can gain some numbers on his own side.

73. Oh thanks for this post I just had some fun
called Santorum's office and this is almost exactly what I said:

Please tell Mr Santorum that we are not as dumb as he thinks we are. There are no WMDs and I'll be sending a check to his opponent. And you should get your resume together because you'll be needing a new job in January

Her reply:

Have a great day!

ROFLMAO

74. Same old strategy
Throw a BS story out to the public, create fear among the gullible to shore up sentiment for whatever asinine policy the wingnuts are promoting. Just keep repeating the same shit story despite provable facts to the contrary because a certain percentage of the populace will always believe no matter what.
