Debate in the US Senate on Democratic Withdrawal Amendments
Anyone listening to this? Like a lot of people I will be in-and-out at work on this debate. I am trying to listen to it and a thread might help to keep track of what is said.

I didn't hear Sen. Levin's speech. Anyone here listen to it?

I did catch Sen. Warner (R-VA) talk about how Bush was/is the best and most steadiest leader ever and that he is to be commended for never changing his mind on anything. (Oh Gawd, barfbag alert.) The Warner used the deaths of the two soldiers who were tortured was brought up to justify the war and also say how dangerous Iraq is.

His other argument is the old GOP standard that we can't withdraw because the insurgents will all just wait for the US to leave to get really nasty and take over. (Ahm, what the hell is happening now?)

1. Levin was OK

and so was Reed (though less so than Levin). But he (Levin) kept emphasizing that the amendment is about the BEGINNING of withdrawal, which I found disturbing.

the same old shit, is being said, Warner just said it has been only 3 months since the Iraqi government Warner pullout too soon yet.

oh, here we go, with the Repig side, McCain and Cornyn.

McCain, New York Senator and then Cornyn.

McCain is up, strongly opposes amendments Levin-Reed Amendment and Kerry-Feingold, god, this is just pure madness. They are on this thing that things will get worse if we pull out, it is already worse.

5. McCain is delusional
And he brings in the inevitable comparisons to Vietnam. Ahm, hello, Vietnam was a mistake as well.

McCain is an asshole, sounds like stay the course to me.
