Are the networks reporting the soldiers' torture?
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 11:33 AM by DeepModem Mom
I don't even want to think about this horror, much less watch it, or read it, reported. But the press shouldn't suppress this news.

EDITED TO ADD: I don't think details are needed. I've seen print reports, but haven't been able to see the reporting on TV, where more people will get the coverage. Since torture has been an issue on our side, I was curious how this was being reported.

1. wtf.....
I think the soldiers "dying in a barbaric way" as the headline kind of tells the story don't you think? And god forbid if the average american family didn't learn of every last gruesome detail. Were they beheaded? Toes cut off? Fingers broken? Limbs snapped? PLEASE TELL US! sighs

5. Still not out on Iraqi News - but al Jazeera has it.
Although it is just a sideline on al-Jazeera. Their big news is the 13 killed on the poultry farm by US forces - and more people killed in another car bomb in Bahgdad.

2. They weren't earlier - said they wanted to notify families before
giving out info. But Washington Post sure picked it up.

4. I do think it is good that they broadcast the story with the photos...
of these fine young men...any family's son..if they do give details of torture,I hope they continue to show these handsome, smiling photos. It's harder to claim a young soldier is 'just a number" when you see the photos.
For the record,i think the kid from Houston's family is not going to let this go.His uncle sounded PISSED yesterday, regarding negotiating with the captors.
