BBC TV exposes ongoing abuse of detainees in Iraq
On tonight's edition of Newsnight - shown on BBC2 TV at 10.30pm London time (5.30pm New York time). From 11.30pm London (6.30pm New York) you will be able to watch it online - but only for the next 24 hours. The first 15 to 20 minutes of the show are devoted to uncovering new evidence of ongoing arrests of innocent Iraqis and systematic abuse of detainees.

2. "US troops face Iraq death charges"

Three US soldiers have been charged over the deaths of three male Iraqi prisoners, the US military has said.

The detainees were allegedly killed in an operation near the Thar Thar Canal near Tikrit in northern Iraq on 9 May.

The charges against the three soldiers include murder, attempted murder, conspiracy and obstructing justice."

That whole segment in NewsNight was unsurprising and very very depressing.
