Iraq IS the frontline in the War on Terror
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 08:42 AM by sparosnare
That's the new meme, it's what the Republicans will drive into the ground until November. They say we have to win in Iraq in order to win the War on Terror - Iraq is now the bullseye. So we have to stay and fight indefinitely.

According to this kind of twisted logic, any Democrat who speaks out for troop withdrawal from Iraq doesn't want to win the War on Terror, and doesn't care about keeping this country safe.

:eyes:

It also means our troops are there forever, because we will NEVER win the War on Terror.

If the media allows Republicans to push this rediculousness, Republicans may end up being successful in turning a failed effort in Iraq that's wasted billions of dollars and thousands of lives into a winning political issue. Now THAT is messed up.

In what used to be the United States of America, I would have thought this sort of Big Brother rhetoric wouldn't have worked. Now though, I am afraid it probably will.

1. thanks to the underfunding of education
and the created distrust of all media (except FOX, of course :puke: ), of course some folks will buy it. The question is, how many? I do believe that a lot of average Americans, who are not overly political, are even getting fed up with the BS, unless something big happens again. Which is what kinda scares me...

5. Me too.
It's almost as if they're laying the groundwork for "something big". If there is another attack, game over.

2. Iraq is the war on the American Troops and Taxpayers
When scions of the rich and powerful start signing up, I'll consider changing my stand on that one.

3. We can thank their base
The tragically pathetic lemmings who think death, destruction and despair are great ways for other people to live day to day so they'll vote for it. They make the gop strategy formulators jobs very easy. Hey throw some red meat to the flag wavers and we are home free.
