Somebody outed Plame and that somebody is still a Republican
I don't know why DUers seem upset, isn't it obviously that there is still something to find out? Sure Rove isn't going to be charged, but there still is someone who outed Plame and that someone could be bigger and better than Rove. As long as this case doesn't go away altogether, there still is trouble lurking for the Bush administration. It's not going away anytime soon, so let's focus on who else could be charged.

1. The Big Kahuna here is Dick Cheney.
The whole Plame situation originated in Cheney's office. As odious as KKKarl is, I'd trade him for Cheney any day.

4. Exactly
A crime was committed, and it's not the one scooter was charged with. Someone is guilty of treason.

6. laws need to be changed.
The fact is she was officially undercover. The special prosecutor said she was undercover.

Her cover was blown.

That everybody is going to get away with it because it's hard to prove 100% that somebody knew what
they were doing is a crock.

At the least everybody should be fired from working at the White House, and lose their security
clearances.

Somebody that "mistakenly" outs a CIA agent isn't somebody I want to have any information like that in
the first place.

7. Could Rove be feeding Hadley or Gonzales to Fitzgerald?
I have a feeling those two are bigger fish than Rove.

8. Your subject line is accurate.
But it's completely possible that no crime was committed in outing Plame's ID, at least not under the law that's usually referred to; the law is specific as to what Fitzgerald must prove. It's not illegal if the law doesn't say so. No matter how reprehensible a deed is, it's not illegal if it doesn't meet the definition in the law.

And, even if the law was broken, it's completely possible that nobody can be charged for it because there's insufficient evidence. What's left to be found out may never be found out.

Having anybody charged for outing Plame has always been a longshot. "Trouble is lurking" is not accurate; "trouble may be lurking" is accurate.

This is a spectator sport.
