Well, I hope all the investors are happy! I lost over $10,000 in the last

I've never been able to figure out the logic of the market, but it's really pi**ing me off now! I'm invested in fairly conservative mutal funds , but the nutcases on wakll street are still driving me nuts!

1. This is why they want us to
privatize Social Security--so we are subject to the vagaries of the market.

3. Yeah well, screw that! I'm leaning toward investing everything in the
Euro! I already talked to my broker about that. The dollar is going south, and the NYSE is just crazy!

2 coupons worth 99 cents off at Taco Bell.

5. That might not sound like much to some, but my total investment is
$150,000. That's 6.6% loss in a week! I'm 62, and I can't afford to loose that much!

I already asked my broker about inventing in Halliburton, but he said by the ime you and I hear about the run-up, it's over, and he's probably right!

SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

4. My brother, the stockbroker, explained it all to me one day
He said, "Stocks go up because people buy them. Stocks go down because people sell them. Nothin' more to it than that."

'Fundamentals' don't have nearly as much to do with it as 'mood'. Herd mentality.

6. You're right, and I know that. My problem is with the radical
MOOD of the major investors! I know they are the ones that make things happen, but they change their minds on every whim imaginable!

8. I have conservative funds too....they lost a ton this month but
then again they made more than that loss through the first quarter of this year. Patience. Some funds are not for people who freak at the ups and downs. It will level itself out and turn around I predict as soon as Bernanke announces what he's going to do to interest rates at the end of the month.

10. freak, we are not talking about freaking
but these continual 100 point drops will set off a panic, the housing market is already
starting to bust.

15. The market through the first quarter was bound to come back
down. We have been experiencing 3 and 4 year highs. Did anyone seriously think it was going to stay there or keep moving up? The housing market is slowing down - it is nowhere near busting.

Look at the Dow for the past 5 years. When we start dropping to 2003 levels....then I'll panic.

24. I still think we've got a couple more bad days ahead - Bernanke
is too well understood. I read an article last week where the CEO of a large investment firm lamented the old days and wanted to go back to when investors had no idea what Greenspan was talking about - they could only make speculative guesses. Bernanke needs to become a little bit more "mysterious".

My jaws are somewhat sore from my personal "teeth gritting" following today's performance.

I'm getting 5.5 on 5 years from my local credit union which isn't going to beat inflation but it's better than a loss.

than 5.5 % per year... Are you saying that after taxes you lose to inflation? Even then, unless inflation shoots up you are ahead....

16. Hmmmmmm.....
Here's what I don't understand.....In April, my trust fund was up $35,000 from the previous month. With the same exact mix of mutual funds and tax-free municipal bonds, May was down $17,000. That's a 52,000 movement in 60 days.....and yet the investment mix did not change!!!!
