Bush says Iran has "weeks not months" to respond

CAMP DAVID, Maryland (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Friday that Iran has "weeks not months" to respond to a U.S.-backed offer aimed at containing Iran's nuclear ambitions and said Tehran needs to suspend uranium enrichment.

Bush said if Iran does not suspend enrichment, "there must be a consequence" and that it would be action taken in the U.N. Security Council.

"We have given the Iranians a limited period of time, weeks not months," to respond to an offer for an incentives package for Iran to ensure it does not pursue nuclear weapons, said Bush.

1. The current intel on Iran says it is more than 5 years away from nuclear
weapon capability. Kerry said it in his speech last week, and said the US has plenty of time for diplomacy to work.

Don't let Bush use the media to push another one of his lies.

4. I'm waiting for it!
I'm patiently watching gold stocks retrace, waiting for the right timing to jump back in. With an Iran attack around the corner, it'll happen sooner rather than later.

10. Yup. This is very scary. If we attack them, I would think that
it is completely within their rights to retaliate in kind.

Iran is years away from nuclear weapons. That shrub is truly a madman. Hopefully nobody buys the crap he will be selling this time around.

7. God, he is really going to do it. I think he really is.
And I don't mean sanctions. I mean attack, possibly nuclear, but likely not just yet. But, the closing of dissent in the USA when he attacks, in part so he can reinstate the draft. Because he will have to. With exceptions like he and Cheney enjoyed available to the elite. He only gives a damn about a tiny elite; the middle class, already losing ground, is ripe to be destroyed. And this could do it. With the patriotic support of those being destroyed.

8. If Bush goes nuclear - I'm driving cross country to DC to protest until he
is removed from office (whether by vote or by mob). I'm completely serious.

9. I'm with you. And when we do so, I hope we end up in the same camp.
At that point, what difference does it make what they do to us? It's a world I no longer want to live in, anyway.

11. You're right. They'd probably just block off all roads leading into D.C.
If we tried to sneak in we'd probably just get shot.
