Great timing to shift focus away from embarrassing FMA....
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 08:17 AM by LeftHander
It all seems too easy.

the day after a MAJOR EMBARRASSMENT in the failure of the Family Marriage Amendment (FMA) in the senate in a obvious pandering move to the religious right, suddenly there is a major achievement in Iraq that has LIVE coverage in the early morning hours complete with a prepared Bush speech on the glowing success of the war in Iraq.

This really stinks like it was pre-planned to occur the day after the failed gay marriage ban...they knew long before they introduced this Amendment it was destined to fail and was going to embarrass the White House unless there was an immediate major event that knocked it off the front pages. The goal of pandering to the fanatic base without major political damage has been achieved.

It is so obvious that Bush was going to take a hit for FMA...that no way were they going to let the press run with that for two or three days after it failed.

A major development was needed to draw media attention away from the same sex marriage ban.

BINGO! Air Srtike...blow up some people in Iraq and CLAIM it was Zarqawi...or simply they could take him out anytime and they choose the DAY AFTER a MAJOR BUSH FAILURE.

Well I SAY BULLSHIT WAG THE FUCKING DOG!! On this.

I am so sick of Karl Rove manipulating everything even air strikes against terrorists for political gain.

Karl Rove met with GOP leadership three weeks ago to discuss strategy. And this is the FUCKING RESULT. Marriage amendment and then an air strike.

BULLSHIT!!

BUSH is not that LUCKY. This was a manipulated event. Pure and Simple.

How many other dead terrorists do they have on ice?

3. wow .....you put a lot of faith in how powerful Rove is,,
The news is reporting that the Jordanians assisted in the location of Zarqaowi (sp?). I don't believe Rove can manipulate the Jordanians to assist Bush to cover for a failed gay marriage ban. Not every single event that happens in the world has been pre-planned according to the Bush doctrine.

Why does every frickin event world wide automatically be credited to Rove, as a politically strategic occurrence? Maybe our military got some good info, planned a strike and killed the MF!

I don't think the gay ban failure is as big a news as you do, it's not that big a surprise.

4. FMA was bigger news than killing a dead terrorist.
Bush tried to discriminate against an entire segment of the population os these Unitied States by advancing a blantantly politcal amendment designed to pander to the religious right.

Purposely dividing this nation. Knowing it was going to fail anyway...why would they suffer the damage of this bad move had they not knowing had a way to avoid scrutiny in the press with something they could shift the media away from the FMA.

No you can continue to believe that it is random chance I for one do not think for one minute that anything about what Bush does is random or most anything that happens in Iraq is a happy accident.

No I think they could of hit Zarqawi at anytime in recent months and waited for this moment for maximum political gain. They may even of had him dead on ice already.

I won't accept "nothing to see here move along to the next shiney object" arguments.

5. I agree.
They have these things waiting in the wings in order to change the subject. It's not concidence that something always happens in the con job "war on terror" just when * needs it.

6. I'm not trying to "minimize" anything regarding FMA, however....
Zarqawi's death is also a big deal for Iraq. I don't believe the gay ban failure will be lost to the news of Zarqawi's death, and if it is it will only be lost to the people who never gave a shit in the first place, the same people who were not even paying attention to it.

I'm not asking you accept anything, and I don't subscribe to your "nothing to see here move along" comment. I just don't believe that Bush and his administration are as skilled as you do, you give them more credit than I do. I don't think the Bush administration is capable of controlling every event in any country they want, you seem to.

I don't think there are any "happy accidents" in Iraq, but eventually you are going to have to come to accept the fact that things do happen that have not been pre-positioned to happen by the Bush administration.

I don't believe everything in the world is controlled by the Bush administration, you give them credit for abilities that I don't, and I think you do it just so you can have something to rant about. I think I'll go look for a DUer posting about FMA today, I wonder how many there are. There are sure as hell a crap load of DUers ranting about this, do you see my point?

7. Have you noticed yet?
There are a dozen or so threads with the same if not very similar message as yours, even another fucking useless POLL, regarding this. I couldn't find ONE about a gay descrimination.

I guess you are right, not even DUers want to talk about gay right violations. Ironic huh.
