You did this. Thanks to your dedication, hard work and support, yesterday we surged to victory in the Montana Democratic Primary.

They're still adding up results, but one thing is clear: Conrad Burns' days in the Senate are numbered.

Conrad Burns tally yesterday was the worst primary election performance by an incumbent U.S. Senator in over two decades.

Nearly 108,000 Montanans voted the Democratic ticket yesterday--more than any other Democratic primary since 1994 and nearly 11,000 more than the Republicans this year.

It's a decisive victory for Democrats, and a clear message to Conrad Burns and his lobbyist cronies that Montanans are tired of his kind of politics.

We're all ready for the Senate to look a little more like Montana.

2. I read my Nation mag in

the sauna today and there was this amazing article on Jon Tester and said the election was June 6th..I couldn't wait to see if he won!

"With his flat-top haircut and a left hand that lost three finger tips to an adolescent run-in with a meat grinder, family farmer Jon Tester won't fit everyone's image of a US senator. But the straight-talking president of the Montana Senate offers the Democratic Party one of its best prospects for grabbing a Republican-held seat and perhaps reclaiming control of the Senate. Indeed, Tester's country style and populist politics make him the perfect antidote to the culture of corruption exemplified by the man he wants to retire in November, Conrad Burns, whose ties to the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal have made him one of the most vulnerable Republican senators. A skeptic about free-trade deals and an enthusiast for biofuel energy alternatives that have the potential to ease dependence on foreign oil while providing reliable markets for US farmers, Tester is determined to shift federal policy to meet the economic and social needs of neglected rural communities in an agricultural state that in 2004 elected Democratic rancher Brian Schweitzer as its governor."
