Ann wins as long as we talk about her. She sez how to get rid of her:
DUdes: we must stop giving Mann what she wants.

SHE HAS A NEW BOOK OUT AND EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT HER (sorry to yell)

She tells us In her *own words* how to get rid of her:

"the only people who could fire me are the American People: if they don't wanna hear me any more, if they don't buy my books if they don't read my columns

(she's says this at the end of the movie's trailer.)

http://www.anncoulterdoc.com/trailer1.htm

So why the fcuk don't we just shut up about her. She ain't worth the energy it takes even to notice her.
Dont get suckered.

2. I don't see how venting here is going to garner book sales...
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 06:13 PM by Juniperx
What we can do is to write her publisher and book store chains to tell them that we think they suck for selling her book... use words like vile, vulgar, venomous... and say it's repulsive how she bashes the widows of 9/11 victims.

Edited to say... love the DUdes deal:) :toast:

3. She hurts the Republicans
I don't care if Freeps need a pin-up. I want everyone to know that she is what the Republican Party really stands for. Until they denounce her and explain the differences, make them live with having her as a spokeswoman.

6. I agree
Ann Coulter is more important as a symbol of the hate and vitriol of the right wing. I say hold her up and let her talk. Her words only appeal to a very small group of Americans and her alliance with Republicans will hurt them. The Democrats need to start attacking Republicans for not publicly denouncing her hateful words. That is the strategy to take with Coulter. Make her own kind disown her.

4. She better hope Hillary doesn't win
As president she would have all kinds of toys at her disposal to make Annie's life miserable---and it would be allowed under the Patriot Act.

8. I surely don’t work up a sweat over that clown
To me, she is a true republican. Most of them think like her, but she has the ballz
to spew their thoughts

It works for her. She will be on Lou Dobbs tomorrow. When was the last time that happened?

9. She will always be able to claim that people are buying her books
because she has the RW machine behind her, buying the damned things up by the pallet-full.

10. I don't talk about her much
But I doubt if we stop talking about her that will lessen the chatter much. I doubt even more that not talking about here will lower her book sales. In fact, if their sales are largely the result of bulk buying, nothing's going to stop RW forums/groups from making bulk buys.

Actually, I managed to disgust my conservative coworker by quoting Coulter today, so if anything, what I said about her resulted in a net negative.

11. There's a bit more we could all do
We could tell our television and radio stations -- and their major advertisers -- that when we see her face or hear her voice, we always push the "off" button. And we don't think they should provide her with a platform for her hate speech.

She has her First Amendment Rights. So do we all. But that doesn't give us all a shot on TV or the radio, does it?

13. I am always hesitant to not confront evil, and she is surely evil.
I know she gains money from it, but to let it go implies that I accept it as legitimate dialogue. The Right has pushed the dialogue so very far to the bottom of public discourse that I feel that we take a grave risk by not standing against discourse's further erosion. Norah O'Donnell, and we know where she rates as DU, dismissed Coulter's comments as "her shtick." And so she gets away with her vile hatred again. I don't claim the right answer about this, but I don't think speaking out against hatred is ever the wrong idea.
