Let's Introduce a Constitutional Amendment Banning Adultery
Adultery should be a felony. Let's call it the "Protection of Marriage Act" - who could argue with that?

Also, let's ban vasectomies, make that a crime. Think of the unborn children whose lives would be saved! And vasectomies only encourage promiscuity and recreational sex.

4. Not - they're all adulterers themselves
Remember when Gingrich led the impeachment proceedings and then had to resign because of his adultery?

7. Yes, but.....
republican sin is acceptable, just let one Democrat fool around on her spouse, and they'll be piling up kindling faster than you can say "Duck, Dick has a gun"...(but on the pro side, bush would finally have a use for all that friggin brush he loves to clear)

3. LOL! I've thought that - that'll teach the red states and the republicans!
Let's also make it a felony to charge your prostitutes to the RNC, like they did in NYC.

Or maybe just make it a felony to be caught doing something that you are trying to pass legislation against.

Let's rewrite it. I am so serious. Turn the tables on those hypocrites.

Forget the drug war! Let's declare a war against hypocrisy! Retool the Patriot Act as an anti-hypocrisy law and call it the SHIT act: Stopping Hypocrisy in Its Tracks Act.

June 3, 2006 -- WMR can report that a Mayflower Hotel staffer has confirmed that First Lady Laura Bush spent at least one night this past week at the hotel, which is four blocks north of the White House. Mrs. Bush reportedly moved out of the White House after a confrontation with President Bush over his on-going affair with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The Mayflower's official position on the story is that they can "neither confirm nor deny" the identities of their guests. Because it's penchant for security and secrecy is well known to the Secret Service, the Mayflower has become a reliable hotel for U.S. and international VIPs.

Some Washington observers believe that the recent flare up between Laura Bush and the president stems from the fact that her poll numbers are twice as favorable as her husband's (60 percent to 29 percent). Laura Bush's recent solo missions to New Orleans, Colorado, and an AIDS conference at the United Nations represent a virtual declaration of independence from the most unpopular president in U.S. history. "She's taking a page right out of Hillary's book," said one Washington pundit. Rice, on the other hand, has been very close and loyal to Bush since she signed on as his chief foreign policy adviser in 2000. WMR has been told of intimate encounters between Mr. Bush and Rice on trips to New York City (multiple occasions) and New Orleans following Katrina.

9. Odd, how much comfort that provides, isn't it -- I want that woman
to have the thought, now and then, that she's married to a man who runs around on his wife......

12. LOL Ah, a fellow traveler down the road from Older and Wiser.
;) Yep, I went on to be happy and secure. She doesn't have that option... but she got what she wanted and they both got what they deserve, trollop and tom cat.

Now, a law banning divorce, sure!

27. Or, she got what she THOUGHT she wanted -- as the Greeks used
to say, When the Gods want to punish us, they answer our prayers.

I listen to my lovely neighbor coping with her husband and it makes me grateful to be poor and single. It seems men get needier and needier and clingier as they grow older, while we become able to motate right on out into the world and do something socially useful.

And I find having white hair renders one invisible to much of society, which is rather useful at times.

Anyway, on divorce -- I think the native americans had the right idea -- matrilinear culture, and she can put his possessions outside the door and be rid of him, and still be in the social structure of her blood group (forget what that's called). The children have the support of the huge extended family and village.

Hard to beat a set-up like that, I'd say.

24. Yes, make adultery a *felony* punishable by public *stoning*.
There's lots of shit in the Bible that should be put forth in Congress as Constitutional amendments.

Indeed, let's call these asshat's bluff. They want a theocracy? Let's show the public what that would really mean.

28. What I'd like to see is all the Democrats refuse to engage in this.
Don't debate it, don't vote on it, don't acknowledge it. Instead, set up hearings or news conferences or SOMETHING on the issues that actually need to be handled by this Congress. Set up a hearing on Haditha, set up a news conference regarding the real unemployment numbers (where are all those people who have been dropped off the unemployment rolls?). Talk about health care, or global warming. Look at how prepared we are for another terrorist attack.

The Dems should look at all these issues and work on getting out OUR message, instead of allowing themselves to be set up like this. As long as they react to it and continue to engage the other side, then this political gamesmanship just keeps going on. Once again, they will let the Repukes set the agenda and do nothing but play catch up.
