54. Professor Davis spoke briefly of the false sense of closure created
by the media regarding Katrina.

She said it's important to remember that children are still missing. This is an enormously important point. Certainly if The Media can sustain stories for months on end about a Natalie Halloway,(sp?) they can/could have report(ed) on the missing from the Gulf Coast Region.

The talk is from February, but I have not seen that all the missing are accounted for.

I don't buy the condescending, cynical and inaccurate excuse that the public won't listen in. The media reports what it wants, and then says it's the publics fault they "can't" report certain stories.

Davis mentioned the "disaster capitalists", such as Halliburton, who benefit from the misery of the Gulf Coast people.

That is also the very story of the supposedly "fumbled" Iraq war: Disaster Capitalists such as Cheney, who started a war in which they have reaped (raped) billions in profit. Likewise Katrina, where the administration sat back as destruction took over day after day, almost as if to maximize the profit potential.

55. In the south a white person could be put to death for One crime: murder.
A black person had SEVENTY-SEVEN crimes for which they would receive capitol punishment.

Talk about terrorism, that's a form of it in my eyes.

Davis states that the prison system to this day reflects that inequity.

The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America
David Horowitz

David Horowitz argues that left-wing radicals have taken over various departments at universities around the country and use their priviledged positions to propagandize students towards their own political biases. In his new book, "The Professors," Mr. Horowitz criticizes 101 of these academics who especially thrive in humanities departments where they are allowed to teach subjects beyond their expertise. Mr. Horowitz, speaking at Duke University, also points out professors at the school he believes are trying to limit the spirit of open debate that universities are supposed to embrace. Mr. Horowitz takes questions from the audience following his remarks.

David Horowitz is president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture in Los Angeles. He is the author of many books, including "Radical Son: A Generational Odyssey," "Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left," and "Left Illusions: An Intellectual Odyssey." On Sunday, June 4 at 12:00 am
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honor: A History
James Bowman

James Bowman analyzes the history and decline of honor at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. He argues that the concept of honor has been found in all cultures throughout history. However, contemporary Western civilization dismisses the concept as obsolete, due to the erosion of values. Mr. Bowman recommends that the West needs to recover the concept of "honor" in order to meet the challenges of today.

James Bowman is a movie critic for American Spectator. He got his first bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. He then went to England for two decades and got his second bachelor's and an advanced degree from Pembroke College. He became a teacher at Westminster School and later became the head of general studies. In 1989, he returned to the United States to write for the American Spectator.

30. Kingfish: The Reign of Huey P. Long
On Sunday, June 4 at 10:00 am
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kingfish: The Reign of Huey P. Long
Richard White, Jr.

Richard White chronicles the life of Louisiana politician Huey Long. Mr. White clarifies some of the confusion of Louisiana's most iconic figure in the 1930's. Huey Long was the governor of Louisiana from 1928 to 1932 and a U.S. Senator from 1932 to 1935. He was assassinated September 10, 1935 at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge as he was mounting a presidential bid against then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr. White wrote "Kingfish" to clear up some of the myths and discrepancies generated by Huey Long's contemporaries and by other authors. He says that Huey Long's brother Earl Long (who also was governor of Louisiana;) and Willie Stark, a fictitional character in "All the King's Men" by Robert Penn Warren have often been confused with the story of Huey Long. Mr. White based his book on interviews with people who knew Huey Long and on oral history. Mr. White says he tried to just give the facts and not opinions in writing this biography, and he wants his audience to decide for themselves whether Huey Long was a dictator, demogogue, or a democrat and to decide who was responsible for Huey Long's death.

Richard White, Jr is a professor of public administration at Louisiana State University. He holds a B.A. from Old Dominion College, an M.B.A. fro Purdue University, and a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. Mr. White writes for The International Encyclopedia of Public Policy and Administration and is the author of "Roosevelt the Reformer: Theodore Roosevelt as Civil Service Commissioner, 1889-1895." Mr. White researches public ethics, administrative history, and human resource management. He resides in Baton Rouge.
