Television Ad on local FOX channel claims global warming is a lie!
Have you seen it? I caught an ad on FOX telling me that global warming is a lie and carbon dioxide is good for you.

You'd think all those people who stuck garden hoses up their tail pipes and through the window of their car would have the same message, but....

From the Detroit Free Press (May 24, 2006):

Anti-union ad campaign in Detroit's face today

This morning, local TV viewers will hear eyebrow-raising accusations about union practices.

"I think it's great my union dues are going to politicians I don't even like," says a man portraying a plant worker in a new ad, while an African-American man playing a construction worker proclaims with a smile, "I really like how the union discriminates against minorities." 2. Corporations don't like Unions
But as to letting the enemy advertise against them, that is completely different!

3. Despicable lies. That's the GOP.
"...paying union dues ONLY so I can keep my job." Yeah right fuck head. Never mind that you make 33% more money than your non-union counterparts.

4. That donating to politicians thing is especially misinformation
My wife had a problem with this until I explained to her that the political contributions of her union support legislators that push for workplace rules that help everyone.

She is a nurse- their union's donations helped push through a minimum staffing requirement, ensuring job security for them and safety for their patients.

6. I think what they're trying to say is...
that unions support legislators who support the rights of ALL workers... even the gay ones.

That's what's meant by "politicians I don't even like."

It's a subtle Repuke coded message.

5. Uh..I think it's carbon monoxide that you get from tailpipes...
though I guess carbon dioxide would do the job if it was 100% of your breathing air.
