MSNBC: Do you think it's time to get tougher with Iran?
CNN is in on this today, as well. Almost the same question, although I believe this version is clearer than CNN's "Are you worried" question.

2. What do they mean by tougher?
In the religiously insane, right-wing neocon slang it means attack the nation, start a war, bomb their civilians, destroy their country.

The polls are hilarious as well. Tougher? What in the Sam Hell does that mean? How about a question like, "Are you prepared for another war in Iran that will most likely result in the reinstatement of the draft and hundreds of billions of more money for defense contractors?"

20. There may very well be a price for getting tough
I suspect that the people who voted "yes" in this poll have not spent two minutes thinking about where the troops are going to come from to fight this war. I suspect that if they thought that the draft was going to be reinstated, they might have voted differently.

5. Dimson's threats are the reason they have elected a hardliner.
If you call someone 'evil empire' and threaten them, they WILL defend themselves. Before shithead came along, Iran was moderating.

8. Being played?
If americans fall for this load of shit a third time, we deserve to be nuked by Iran. I can't believe our public is so incredibly damned stupid. I really can't. Is there any country we can't be persuaded to attack? Anybody we won't agree to kill if the shrub deems it necessary?

9. I don't even think its a matter of the country being stupid
I think it is the administration that doesn't care what we think. They have the next election rigged, in the bag already, so our opinions don't matter. It won't cost them at the polls no matter what they do. As long as the BushCo media machines keeps spouting their shit, and they can make the impression that our neighbors are worried about Iran or Syria, then they figure we won't question what's going on. Perception management and group psycology rolled into one.

Again, it's not that we're stupid. It's just that they're evil and they control everything.

13. You know, I'd agree with you
if we hadn't been through this twice before. And even the MSM has clearly indicated that Afghanistan has its problems post-war, and Iraq is a sinkhole where, notably, there are NO WMD! And Bush's incompetence has been revealed again and again, for those who are competent enough to put 2+2 together. Nope, I'm not going to be very forgiving this time. And when I see a poll result which shows that the same morons are falling for it again, I find it very depressing.

10. Yes, we need to stop giving Iran help on building a bomb.
In 2000 the CIA threw the blueprints for a trigger device over the transom of the Iranian Embassy in Vienna. CIA Operation codename "Merlin."

11. Morons
55% say yes. They don't even know why. They don't know what "tougher" means. And, 30% of that 55% are people who no longer think Bush is trustworthy. So, he's trustworthy about nothing but Iran? Huh?

14. America is a one-liner.
Just do it. Just say no.

What about the starving child in Darfur who is hanging onto his mother in great suffering?

What about the fact that I can't go to a doctor because it's too expensive?

What about stopping the bomb manufacturing, and start working on eliminating war?

What about thinking?

Let's stop all of this tougher, meaner, punishment mentality!

Let's turn those jails into schools. Or just bulldoze them down.

As for being tough- we couldn't get tougher without steel plating the entire country. Republicans thrive on punishment. I believe that's primarily what creates Republicans.

Well, that's enough for the morning.

16. Is it time to get tougher with Pakistan?
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 11:57 AM by kenny blankenship
I mean they have the bomb AND they're harboring AL QUAEDA.
When is the invasion set to start?

Is it time to get tougher with Israel?
They have the bomb and their occupation and genocide against the Palestinians is the principle cause of anger against America in the entire region.
When do we lay down the law on them and tell them to withdraw from the West Bank, by a date-certain, or else?

HUH???
WHEN?
