Wrong About Rove?
By Howard Kurtz

I reported yesterday (and if you missed it, start paying attention!) that the liberal Web site Truthout.org was standing by its claim that Karl Rove had been secretly indicted in the CIA leak case, despite strong denials by the White House aide's lawyer and spokesman.

...

Marc Ash , the site's founder, writes:

"On Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2006, TruthOut ran a story titled, 'Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators.' The story stated in part that top Bush aide Karl Rove had earlier that day been indicted on the charges set forth in the story's title.

...

Um, what exactly does that mean? That the story was wrong? That they're not sure whether it was wrong? That it was right but published too soon?

...

Washington Monthly's Kevin Drum says someone is headed for a fall:

"I, of course, have no way to judge the truth of either side, although it continues to be strange that Leopold claims to have multiple sources on this story and no other media outlet has even one. In any case, there's damn little wiggle room left here. One side or the other is wrong on a truly spectacular scale and is now set up for an implosion of credibility on a galactic scale."

1. Kurtz couldn't wait to pile on to trash lefty bloggers
He loves that shit, and the Truthout story just gave this bastard more ammunition.

This is the same Howard Kurtz that loves Powerline and invites Assrocket to his show.

4. Kurtz is being paid to do this, I'm convinced.
He's going after TO and Leopold just a little TOO fervently. He's certainly not an objective reporter and I think we all know where his allegiances lie.

I propose we ignore Kurtz completely and not give his drivel the time of day on DU.

5. So, instead of trying to get to the root of the story, all Kurtz can do
is bemoan the fact that others haven't yet? Some journalistic credibility there, the lazy ass.

6. In a more just world, Kurtz would leave his house one morning only to be
set upon be thousands of hellish, rabid quadroped beasts from the nether realms.

They would chase him around Georgetown for several hours and then pounce on his smarmy bones and savagely gnaw his flesh.

Thank you very much.

7. Typical...
"One side or the other is wrong on a truly spectacular scale and is now set up for an implosion of credibility on a galactic scale."

More hyperbolic crap from the punditocracy. The world is in global crisis and they are conflating a small time pissing contest into "implosions...on a galactic scale."

The MSM got almost everything wrong on Iraq but none of that matters, no credibility lost there.

If the whole Earth was struck by a hundred comets it would have close to zero effect on the galaxy. But then, that reality is lost on those who have placed themselves at the center of the universe.

Go ahead, implode at will. The sound you hear will be your own ego exploding into nothingness...

8. The first two pages are about the TO story, and worth reading.
He quotes both rabid right-wing bloggers like Jonah Goldberg, and people like Andrew Sullivan who consider Rove to have been a failure.

Actually not too much of a smear by Kurtz; mostly he's saying that either TO or Rove's camp are lying, and that time will tell.

10. Some propagandists are so predictable that it isn't worth noting what
they say for more than 3 seconds. However, I do appreciate knowing what the trends are in rebutting and protecting PNAC. Thanks for posting and keep on posting.

11. Howie the Ho's wife must be up for a juicy contract with the repubs
for him to be so hot and bothered about this. He seems to have his marching orders and he is goose-stepping beautifully.

12. Remember, Kurtz came out to defend Jeffy Gannon.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. :-)
