Poll question: Pelosi ? Or New Blood
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/whispers/articles/060529/29whisplead.htm

From "Washington Whispers"

Enough With "Speaker Pelosi"

Boy, you'd think having a chance at electing the first-ever female House speaker would have the Democrats bragging about "Speaker" Nancy Pelosi, but we hear there's an effort to stop that talk. Dems worry she's so liberal it will scare moderates away and energize conservatives going into the fall elections.

WHEN, NOT IF, WE TAKE THE HOUSE, DO YOU WANT PELOSI AS SPEAKER, OR NEW BLOOD

1. if I didn't want Pelosi, it wouldn't be because she is "too liberal"
Edited on Mon May-22-06 01:04 PM by jsamuel
soooo liberal that she is rumored to have ruled out a Bush impeachment

Just who would you have replace her?

2. Just goes to show you where we fall in the spectrum, huh. I don't
want her because I think she lacks political savy. Good heart, but much too transparent. I still am ticked that she told Dems to boycott the Katrina hearings. Everyone will say, "Oh, it would be a biased whitewash."

But to all that said that, how much further along are we now to holding Asshat accountable? Not one single inch. And people died because of his shenanigi.

5. Next Year, After We Take Congress and Cheney and Bush** are Impeached
Edited on Mon May-22-06 01:21 PM by AndyTiedye
(if we can keep them from stealing the election this time)

If Bush** and Cheney are impeached, the Speaker of the House
is the next in line. If Democrats take the House, That would
be Congresswoman Pelosi if she retains her leadership post.

Whoever is the Speaker has a very real possibility of becoming President
at this point. If evidence of LIHOP or MIHOP becomes public,
as it surely will when Democrats start investigating, it is likely that
the impeachment votes will be unanimous.

7. Duh. You were WAY ahead of me! Love the way you think !! So
we need to find a rep from a blue state, have him/her resign (for the cause), have Gore establish residency, have the blue governor appoint him, and then alas -- Poetic Justice.

6. She's been too vilified
some of it deserved, most of it not. I think someone else could better represent the party, who? I'm not that familiar with congressmen from across the country. You could easily make the argument that they are going to vilify anyone we would put in the speaker's role, which begs the question, "why haven't we vilified Hastert?" That jackass suggested just last week that working families making 40k a year are getting a free ride on taxes and called people who are too poor to pay taxes, "lucky duckys" There's alot to vilify there, so get to work!

I heard it on good sources yesterday on The Chris Matthews Show tell me something I don't know segment! Always reliable!!!! *wink*

Also, from a crack reporter of the Orlando Sentinel...Karl Rove won't be indicted.

15. She really did say it
To paraphrase...'I hate to disappoint you, Chris (and others she named)...but Karl Rove won't be indicted on Monday, he won't be indicted next week or the week after that, he won't be indicted next month. Karl Rove will not be indicted.'

16. Well, heard Lawrence O'Donnell this morning opine that either
Fitz doesn't have enough evidence or Rove is helping the Government get a Libby conviction.

17. I guess those are the two choices
What else is there? Fact is, everybody's doing a guessing game. I still think it's weird that Luskin isn't talking. After Rove's fifth appearance he's been mum...except for his comments about taking the dog to the vet (which was his response to the TO piece). He's not even saying Rove "isn't a target" anymore.

12. she said "Impeachment is off the table..."
and that made me sick.

It is her freakin' DUTY to pursue impeachment.

It is her DUTY to explain to the Citizens why the Constitution COMPELS HER TO IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT!!!

Gawd, the triangulators make me want to puke.
