I don't know if the Limbaughs and Hannity's are going to accept McCain after 8 years of bashing him for his supposed 'moderation,' and we know the GOP faithful does as talk radio says. Hannity's pushing Newt hard, but surely they wouldn't be that stupid to put up someone unelectable like him. Allen's still out there-so is Frist, but I think he's killed his chances. And Rudy and Condi are possible.

So who do you think will be our challenge to taking the country back?

3. Did you hear that Giuliani's been pandering to Ralph Reed recently?
I still would put my money on John McCain

5. After Bush
Given that they rallied behind Bush, they could probably get Sparky the Wonder Goat elected (thank you Diebold).

Is it too late for Jeb to declare himself? That remaining 30% will support anyone named Bush so he's a start. Running Condi allows them to accuse anyone not voting for her of racism and sexism (and you know they would) so I think the Republican dream ticket would be Jeb-Condi.

The corporate bosses love him and he sucks up well to the rabid-right--plus he's a bigot.

7. no chance. he's as stupid and mean-spirited as dumbo, without
the 'charisma,' the money, or the family connections

I used to live in Virginia, and it's widely acknowledged that he's the worst governor in living memory, if not longer. and that's SAYING something

10. Early guess?
McCain/Guiliani or McCain/Jeb.

McCain has the (undeserved) maverick rep to get the support of moderates, and he has been doing some serious sucking up to the theocons.

To be fair though, either ticket would accomplish the same thing -

Make honest, reasonable human beings retch uncontrollably.

11. McCain and some Talibornagain Nutjob

The wingers will accept McCain and eagerly await his demise in office
(and possibly help it along if they get impatient) as long as they have
some hard right Dominionist in the wings as VP.

12. Not McCain.
He has really infuriated the Republicans with his stance on immigration. The Republicans are also kind of nervous about his less than full support of gun ownership. As for the others, who knows. I know their panties get all squishy for Condi, though.
