I'm "raffling" a DU star! (Not a real raffle, 'tickets' are free!)

It's 1930 CST now. Any DUer who doesn't have a star and wants one, reply within one hour...I'll write each name on a little slip of paper and put it into a box...which at 2030 I'll shake up and randomly draw one out. The contribution won't be huge, but it -will- get you a star. Ready, set go!

(Mods, I can't imagine this is any kind of violation but if so let me know & act accordingly, ok?)

27. Would it not be better

to review posts of people that do not have a star and pick one out and give them a star without them knowing who did it? That way you will feel good doing it and they will feel like they have been doing a good job contributing to DU. It's a win win situation.

29. I often do that as well. It was just an idea that popped into mind

and now that you mention it, probably not such a good one. I just wanted to help out DU and thought that a little 'spreading the wealth' might be a way to do it but you are right...in future I'll keep it anonymous. (Actually, I'm finding the effusive thanks more than a little embarrassing)
