2. last i heard several years ago ...

marislesis (the aunt--or was it cousin--who became the substitute mother)had opened her own beauty salon. (don't know whether it failed or whether it became a splashing success). also lazaro and the other guy, marislesis father were suing the government for pain and suffering--but i don't think anything came of that...though, i am speaking from memory, and my memory may not be all that accurate, or it might need updating.
