MSM will regret not hedging their bets on the Rove indictment.
This post is premised on the fact that I have most of my chips on this Rove thing coming down the way TruthOut has described it.

DU and other forums have spent alot of time talking about whether Leopold's career is "ovah" if he has been duped on the story. But what if he is essentially on target with this while MSM chose to ignore the story on orders from superiors as it has been suggested? Essentially, because MSM has chosen a wholesale deafening silence on this story, this pissing contest has resulted in a stand-off between The Mighty and Credible MSM and the Conspiracy-Crazed Internets Blogger Buffoons. It's less about Rove than the sources who cover him.

IF IF IF IF the cross-checking from multiple sources results in a validated MegaScoop for Leopold, then this massive MSM omission could backfire and lend instant credibility not only to TruthOut, but the bloggers, the Internets and the Liburl Message-boarders like us. The bottom line is, if Rove has been indicted or faces imminent indictment, ignoring the story won't make it not so. The public knows MSM dropped the ball on the WMD story, the NSA story and now possibly the Rove story. The collective doubts about their agenda can really get some traction if the Davey slays Goliath in this one.

1. Good point, but I am much less optimistic that things would change.

The MSM is so firmly entrenched with the corporate/rethug creeps that they will simply say "we could not verify" and skip off.

Goliath, I'm afraid, won't be brought down.

2. With enough money and power, you can CHANGE the truth to
anything you deem it to be.

BTW we are so f**ked if Hayden gets confirmed.

IMO, with the warrant-less wiretapping ... we've lost all. :(

No, it's not November, the time to stand firm is NOW!

5. We ARE truly f**ked if Hayden gets confirmed.,
The nightmare just continues to get worse and worse. And you are absolutely right, ShortnFiery -- the timne is NOW. November is very important, but what is going on right now, today, and all the today's leading up to November, is extremely important. We need to do whatever we can to fight this crap. Yes, I know sometimes it seems that nothing we say or do makes a difference, but I will keep fighting anyway. To simply roll over and accept this nightmare is not for me.

8. No doubt they will do that but there are many outlets that have made
an issue out of the credibility of bloggers and the cyber-rumorists. I certainly don't think that a Rove indictment will mean instant credibiity for us web rats, but I think it'll help our cause. Most MSM has websites/blogs anyways. Everyone looks at the web.
