"'Bush's Brain' to keynote GOP fund-raising dinner

By Ralph Zahorik
STAFF WRITER

Karl Rove, President Bush's controversial deputy chief of staff, will be the keynote speaker Friday night at the Lake County Republican Party's annual spring fund-raiser in Lincolnshire.

No public announcement was made of the fund-raiser this year, or of Rove's appearance. In past years, the dinner, along with the keynote speaker were routinely announced weeks before the event.

There was no press release because, "We're not trying to sell tickets to the public," said Lake Villa Township Supervisor Dan Venturi, new Lake County Republican chairman. "This is to reward and energize the base. All the information went out to the base ... We're close to capacity now and probably will be at capacity Friday."

There was no information that Rove would be at the dinner on the party's Web sites..."

1. Will they turn it into a defense fund raiser for KKKarl?

Hope springs eternal, .e., that there will be a need for him to raise money for his defense.

2. Even if he is/has been indicted, he'll still do this dinner.
That's how Rove operates - and really, his base knows his tactics. They know the kind of underhanded shenanigans this man pulls off and it'll probably be a celebration dinner of sorts.

They whole lot of them have no ethics, no integrity. Rove is a hero to them.

5. Oh how I hope Rove makes a joke about Truthout
and then his sealed indictment is made public the next day.

6. Gosh, this reminds me of the flurry of appearances by the Bugman
suitably accompanied by the "All is well in my world" grin just before his indictment. The more likely the indictment, the more appearances it seems, lol.

8. Yep, we may feel tormented by the waiting. But their smiles
and appearances and denials aren't going to help them once they're indicted and facing some consequences for a change.

Actually as people noted, he looks like he's dropped some weight. This could be due to his experiencing the stress of it all.

The demeanor a person presents isn't necessarily a real reflection of how they're dealing with the stress inside.
