1. I saw the opposite
I thought it was embarrassing for everyone concerned.

Even Jon Stewart mocked him.

Hanging notes on doorknobs?

Stewart's comment was something like, "The Democrats are SO not taking Congress in November."

4. Personally, I think the proper strategy is "Get out of their way"
Edited on Tue May-16-06 07:36 PM by ShaneGR
The Republicans are their own worst enemy at this point. Why get in the way of a train wreck? Stand aside, let the press tear them apart, and take over the show. Howard Dean, as chairman of the DNC, is paid to organize the voting block. He is not paid to hand out juicy red meat to the press that could be used against us.

Keep quiet.

Organize the base.

Win.

Ask me the day after election day how I feel about Dean. Just win baby.

7. That's passive, and it hasn't worked so far
Democrats aren't going to win via the "we're not them" route. It won't work.

We need a big, charismatic, brave, loud, gutsy leader to emerge with a platform that's substantive and realistic and something to which Americans can relate.

This is the time, and if the Democrats don't get it together, we're screwed all over again, and we'll have no one to blame but the Democrats who are refusing to do a damn thing.

Passive never works. Karl Rove has taught us that.

13. BINGO. That's passive. Nobody in the end respects passivity.
ESPECIALLY Republicans.

They eat it as an appetizer and give a big belch afterwards.

Nothing but force gets their attention. Nothing.

6. And why is JS's joke more the truth than anything anyone else might
say. He is not an expert on the topic of what HD is doing.

I wonder why you don't recognize that JS is not necessarily right about anything he says. He is a Comedian. And you think everything he says is true?

Which of the two men would know more about what they were talking about at that point? JS? That's pretty funny that you would think JS knows more about grassroots activism than HD does.

Who does your thinking for you?

8. Clearly, you're uncomfortable
wih someone seeing an event differently from how you see it.

So, you'll now dwell in IgnoreLand, because rudeness wins you a lifetime seat.

3. He did fine
Even John agreed the 50 state strategy was good.

Its grassroots, baby. The GOP has been winning with strong grassroots campaigns for the last two elections.

10. JS joke about Democrats getting laid was a big plus.
Edited on Tue May-16-06 07:42 PM by patrice
Funny sexy joke about door knockers was very cute.

I taught high school for 10 years; I know what I'm looking at when it comes to people.

Dean was darling.
