How many people have lost Sleep, Money, Recreation waiting for Indictment?
No matter where you come down on who's right or wrong on this Rove Indictment, how many people have lost SLEEP, or Money, missed work, didn't take a walk, go to the beach, play with your kids, etc while waiting for Rove to GO DOWN?

I've spent many sleepless nights, times when I could have taken my little boy to the beach, money I should be making, working on a film or website, canvassing for web work..

Instead I'm going from site to site gleaning all the info I can, refreshing screens over and over, looking for justification for my own views.. hell, my eyes are nearly shot, and my son is looking pretty lean, might be time to feed him, been a couple of days :)

It looks like a LOT of us are Obsessed with this, and that obsession is getting the better of our tempers, or even costing us money, sleep, etc like I mentioned.

Maybe we'd all feel better and be nicer if we took a day off and went to the beach, painted that piece of furniture, or cleaned out the garage?

How is this affecting you?

And let's not fight, Skinner says so, and I'll be damned if *I*m going to argue with that :)

25. why would Fitz do that? He hasn't in the past
so why would he change his operation style now?

Seems to me that we all just have to wait and wait and wait.

And we need to stop yelling at Will Pitt or Leopold in the meantime.

Oh..and there was other news the media ignored this weekend.

so far I have been keeping pretty busy with other projects, if it was not for these I would be going batshit crazy about this.

I have my champagne on ice all ready to go.

Hopefully I will be able to taste it soon. :toast:

on edit: feed the boy and get some fresh air - who knows when you get back Rove will be getting sized for his Orange Jumpsuit

3. Frankly it hasn't bothered me at all
I figure that when an indictment is handed down, I'll find out. I learned long ago to stop stressing out about the maybe's, could be's, possiblies etc. Balance in all things of life.

Besides, it's planting season, and frankly I don't have the time to be cruising the net endlessly. Too many things to get in the ground, to get done right now:shrug:

4. I'll tell ya this
I loaned my copy of Rove's War to some people for enlightenment and it worked. The overriding sentiment expressed to me was "what a slimy motherfucker. He should be in jail."

Sweet dreams S-Man, sweet dreams.

29. RIGHT ON
man that makes me feel good, I put so much work into that damn film.. and got dirty doing it, spending hundreds of hours with Rove will make you feel like you're filled up with rotted bullshit..

But I got to know him, and that's why I predicted he'd go down almost two years ago.. my secret is that he LIED to the FBI since he owned them in Texas, but Fitz got the FBI interviews and that is what is going to take Rove down.. the arrogance that he OWNED the FBI.. and a few other things, but I think that would be the clincher..

thanks for sharing that, made my day :)

I do think some people should take a little time and relax though. Freaking out about things you have no control over is not good for the system and it can really mess up your body and mind.

10. Not me
This administration has made me far too cynical. There's open lawlessness and criminality without any penalty whatsoever, and to think that Rove will be brought to justice is almost an impossible concept.

I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, on with life...

31. exactly right...
It's like this speech tonight - his shills trump up a fake crisis and all of a sudden he gets to "act" like he does something other than ride a bike or scratch his ass all day.

And of course, he "acts" in a militaristic way...he doesn't know any other method than jackboots. Meanwhile we begin to accept the idea of a military presence in the states...just in time for the crackdown on public dissent when we attack Iran.

It's really like the most terrible nightmare, these last six years.

I've lost nothing at all. I believe that he will be indicted soon.I'll be surprised if it doesn't happen this week but until then I just feel hopeful and at peace about it. When I see my neocon boss (a 29% guy if there ever was) I just smile because I have a happy secret. I can wait because I know that it will happen. It's totally ok for details about what day to be vague. It's going to happen and it will be satisfying. Until then I live life and love who I love and so should you Symbolman. I know you have a lot invested in this guy but step away from the monitor, feed and hug that child and just have patience.

16. We seek validation, and closure, and proof the constitution still counts
Edited on Mon May-15-06 09:11 AM by boobooday
We keep seeking validation in official actions to prove that we are right. We seek for the forces of law and order to uphold the law, because we know that our country is being run by criminals.

We know we are right. But in the past, so many times we have expected people in power to uphold our ideals, to speak from OUR power, our WE THE PEOPLE power, which is the power of the constitution. But over and over again, so many have spoken not from the power of the constitution, but from their own position of power, in defense of their own personal power. I heard Chomsky say that "Speak truth to power" was a bullshit phrase, because the powerful already know the truth. Far more dangerous to this fascist crowd is speaking truth to the powerless, which is what an indictment of Rove would represent.

And this whole issue, and this man, Patrick Fitzgerald, have come to represent our hope that the power of private interests cannot corrupt everyone who has sworn to protect the power of the constitution.

I haven't lost sleep over it -- I'm way beyond that now, but that doesn't mean that this isn't important. It is, but I'm so battered from having my hopes dashed, I don't feel like I can dare to hope for justice.

But still I do.

And here's to all of us who keep fighting, and here's to you for losing sleep over the future of your country. Some of us realize that the power of the constitution is the only power that is available to ALL of us, and to let it be trampled is to hand back everything Jefferson and Adams and Madison, et al, created.

:patriot:

I have lost sleep do to other issues (PTSD and struggles thanks to Katrina), Rove isn't on my list of top priorities, they will replace him with another slim, like interchangable parts.

I also believe a watched kettle never boils and I believe what goes around comes around.

I definitely know what it is like to live in limbo and I am learning patience.

21. Actually, my husband has "benefited" from my uncontained glee!
He even printed out an article on Cheney's notes and put it on my breakfast-in-bed Mother's Day tray.

I was discussing it with my daughter at my son's football game, and people were leaning in to listen - she is 15 and she asked "Wait - it this the guy with the mafia hat? I thought he was already arrested?"

"No", says I, "that is a different corrupt republican! This one is bigger than that."

"Is he the guy that had to step down in the House?"

"No, he is even closer to the President than him. Some people call him Bush's brain."

"Wow" She finishes, "I need a chart to keep track of which ones are in trouble with the law."

Hee hee hee. Not one person asked any questions, or questioned my loyalty or politics, they just listened. So I am hoping they are looking stuff up today.

22. it's part of the whole effort to unseat Bush and save some lives
so it's not like I would be sleeping well, eating well, or going on with my life . . .

In 2003 I was on my 'second parenthood' with my Alzheimers afflicted Dad living with me. He was at the point where he was declining fast, but we had been together for three years at that point since my Mom died. My own children had grown, the youngest turned 18 the year I took responsibility for Dad. My wife and I were looking forward to doing something different than raising kids, being so responsible. I had a button-down job, but my hair was starting to grow again. With the new ponytail fad popping up I was able to come close to the long hair I had in my hippie youth. I was stretching out, looking for that laid back lifestyle; a way of life instead of a living. I wanted to write fiction, and I did. I mamaged a children's book in between Dad and my paying job, which was shrinking. We finally had to take Dad to a nursing home. It was at that point that I had a notion that I was free. I remember sitting down by a late fire, swelling with anticipation of all of the asthetic pursuits my aging hippie mind could conjur. The TV was on and the news was growling for my attention. I had blocked all of the news channels out months before, so it was rare to see the cretins. Bush wanted war, war with Iraq. I was stunned, of course. I hadn't paid any mind at all to the lead up. I had put my politics aside to focus on family, and me. I still wasn't ready. I drifted back to my fiction, but there was something . . . My wife is one who claims contact with 'spirits'. She had one on the line. 'He' was concerned about the war, she said. So was I. So was I, just not . . . now. This spirit, I was told, did something that struck me, something earthly, so I paid some attention. He was, like, going to leave, that instant. No talking, no shooting the shit. Just apologize, didn't mean to bother you, I'm out of here. Like that. Well, I still haven't heard or seen anything spirit like, and I didn't then. But, I've always been pretty obsessed with politics. That's why I was on cold turkey. I was embarassed for 'anyone' to have to walk away with such a heavy burden and me not jumping in to share. So I did. I jumped right in. I bought a computer, I started a web page, I haven't stopped trying to end this war. My wonderful, concerned spirit still reportedly shows up now and again to touch base, not as much as the first year, busy I guess. So am I.

27. Sorry to hear about your dad
I lost mine the same way. It's tough, someone that was once the big arms that held and protected you and now they don't know your name, then they can get violent, which is what my dad did.

He finally was institutionalized and refused all food and water.. it took him two weeks to die. I had heard that without water people last about three days. He as a tough old bird and I'm proud of him being a fighter pilot, a total charmer, handsome in his pilot suit, just like Errol Flynn, saying, "Y'know boy, the woman had to stand in line and take a number.."

Treasure those memories by the fire, it's all we have.

24. I haven't lost sleep over the Plame indictments, but I have lost sleep

Over PLENTY of other stories...

For example:

1. Election rigging (yeah, like they won't cheat again)

2. Possible (probable?) depression

3. War in Iran

4. War in Iraq

5. Domestic spying, signing statements

6. Supreme Court appointees

Obviously, these things cycle and it isn't constant. But, I certainly have been upset enough over the above issues to have my sleep disturbed. The indictments haven't caused this simply because I have come to understand that this is going to be a long process.

30. Like I told my wife
back in Nazi Germany people couldn't BELIEVE how FAST it all happened..

All of a sudden, BOOOM, all of your rights are gone, tanks in the street and you'd better shut your mouth if you know what's good for you.. yeah, it's all accumulating and as a whole it's frightening..

Rove seems like small potatoes anymore, like he's sort of been neutered (now THERE'S AN IDEA) :)

I moved to Hawaii, just on a sailboat with some guns and gold and get the hell out of Dodge easily enough, after ten years in Alaska I know how to take care of myself and what it takes to live, and live simply and in harmony..

of course then the Black Helicopters show up.. but I've heard they're more of a deep Blue :)
