used and you call your mother or husband or whatever, I wonder how deeply you've been investigated.

Can you imagine how far that tree could spread and how quickly.

your phones, everyone you called, your moms phones, everyone they called, everyone who they called and then who they called and so on.

This is complete bullshit I say!

1. It might be worse
Suppose the pizza delivery guy is part of a terrorist cell and uses his company cell phone to chat with other conspirators between deliveries? The very same phone he uses to call you to verify your address when he gets lost. Then he leaves the job and the store manager uses the cell phone to verify large orders, including an order to an address suspected of being a different sleeper cell. And so on, and so on....

:scared:

2. it could happen to anyone, which is why it is bullshit. Can you imagine
the files they have on ordinary americans who have no attachment to terrorism.

5. *sigh* That sounds like some crap that would happen to me.
I think that the terra people are way, way smarter than * is giving them credit for. They aren't going to keep using the same damn phones or cell phones over and over.
It's just an excuse to maybe keep tabs on the opposition and of course, a shrub favorite, just plain scare people.

3. Or called a number they called
That is the only "evidence" that got my cousins husband, a Yemeni, arrested and eventually Deported deported after spending almost three years in a Federal Prison. He called a number that had been called by a "suspected" terrorist.

After having their children taken away, put with a fundie family in another city, my cousin to get her to "implicate" her husband. (He was innocent. His Jewish employer even vouched for him). I got an email last week and they now live in Yemen. She was in medical school when this happened and has awards for her work in Kobe earthquake when she and her future husband were students there.

Thanks Bush.

4. Anybody else believe these people are fictional?
All this over these people who are in the US allegedly planning a terrorist attack?

One, not that many people would really do it, and 911 used up all 19 of them, most likely. I know the freepers believe every Muslim would kill himself for Osama, but somehow I doubt it.

Second, it would reflect really badly on the Administration - after all the Arabs they have deported in the last five years, they missed some? And have let more in? Come on.

They need to monitor calling patterns? What patterns? What possible patterns could there really be? How many phone calls do terrorist make? Do they make them in a pattern of some kind? If they do, that pattern is recognizable to people of a different mindset?

6. Pretty sure that terrorists have watched a spy movie or two.
Wouldn't they have sense enough to use pay phones, and a different phone each time. And wouldn't they have those cell phones that have prepaid minutes, or even just get their cell phone under a fake name? Does Bushco really think that monitoring telephone calls will give them real information?
