To those who called/emailed your telco providers: Any response?
I spoke to verizon customer service today, and the person hadn't even heard of the NSA scandal. This is why I was targeting Corporate Communications and Public Relations departments, because they are the voice of the company. Have you had any luck with Sprint, BellSouth, AT&T, etc?

4. Bread and Circuses
as long as they're mortgaged and in credit card debt up to their ears, Americans will be placated with material things and not pay attention to their disintegrating civil liberties. Hey, as long as they can buy what they want!

6. Maybe the only way they will start paying attention....
to their vanishing civil liberties is if Bush tells them what they can and can't buy.

7. Just called Comcast.....
.....and was told that they have to check into it to see if Comcast gives phone records of their Customers to NSA. Say they will get to me on that when they find out. The guy I spoke to at least knew about the NSA thing....and was wondering about it himself....go figure....

9. My call to Sprint:
The first person I talked to was a completely clueless rep and hadn't heard the news - she eventually found a supervisor of some sort to help me. He told me Sprint/Nextel has not turned over phone records to the NSA, but he did tell me the FBI "has ways" of getting information if necessary. I tried to get him to elaborate on that by mentioning warrants, and he said the FBI doesn't need warrants, they have "back door channels" they use to get what they need. He wouldn't say anything else. I thanked him and hung up.

Hmmm.

10. Here are their corp comms people:
SVP Corporate Communications, Bill White, Sprint/Nextel: (913) 794-1108

Corporate Communications, Director, Consumer Communications, Sprint/Nextel: Kelly Campana (630) 875-5122

Corporate Communications, Director, Public Affairs, Sprint/Nextel: Leigh Horner (919) 465-3712

Those are the folks you should call-as I said, they are the outward face of the3 company, and they info goes directly to the top brass.
