2004/5 - more than 1,060 govt employees convicted of corrupt activies
More and More Malfeasance From today's New York Times story on the FBI's post-9/11 focus on public corruption cases:

In 2004 and 2005, more than 1,060 government employees were convicted of corrupt activities, including 177 federal officials, 158 state officials, 360 local officials and 365 police officers, according to F.B.I. statistics. The number of convictions rose 27 percent from 2004 to 2005.

1. So, do they break it down to Dems and Pubs?
I bet I already know the answer, but it would be nice to see!

2. Given the malfeasance, dishonesty and attitude of...
the government that convicted these people, I have to wonder if they were guilty of anything at all--except "disloyalty" to McShrub. I seriously doubt many of the "real" criminals in our government have been brought to justice (or ever will)! Had it not been for DeLay catching a little conviction (and not the good, personal quality kind of 'conviction', but rather the good, deserving punishment kind of 'conviction'), I'd be doubtful that more than a few of those others who've been convicted would have been guilty of any real wrongdoing. (See, I had about 5% of my faith restored by the conviction of that lecherous criminal king-pin DeLay; a good thing, but hardly sufficient)
