Ann Coulter may lose voting rights
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2006/05/10/m2a_jose_col_0510.html#coulter

The Palm Beach Post, May 10, 2006

(snip)

Embarrassing! Conservative pundit Ann Coulter, who makes a nice living commenting on the political process, may temporarily lose her right to be a part of that process.

The blond Democrat slayer has not responded to an April letter from the Supervisor of Elections office asking her to explain why she voted in a Town of Palm Beach precinct that wasn't hers earlier this year.

The elections office tried to contact her again last week with another missive. No response. Now, the voting-eligibility watchdogs are losing patience.

"We may start the administrative procedure to remove Ms. Coulter from the voter rolls this week," said Charmaine Kelly, deputy elections chief. "There will be a public hearing to cancel her registration. If that happens, she won't be able to vote until she re-registers. It's a rather rare procedure."

Kelly said that after the hearing, Supervisor Arthur Anderson also will determine whether to refer the case to the state attorney's office for criminal prosecution.

(snip)

The story so far: Ann Coulter put a false address on her voter's registration to conceal the location of her Palm Beach home, and was caught when she voted in the wrong precinct. Lying on a voter's registration can cost up to $5,000 in fines and five years behind bars.

But along with her losing her right to vote until she re-registers, I want to see her behind bars. She knew damn well she was breaking the law. Then again, she doesn't seem to really know what she is talking about most of the time so maybe she can plead that she was ignorant of the political process.

64. I don't mean my sarcasm/criticism to be directed at her
Edited on Wed May-10-06 11:22 PM by Liberalynn
personal choice about how she lives her life outside the public political fishbowl. It is about her selling out women by advocating publicly that women shouldn't have the right to vote. If she were a true "woman" then she could never betray her own kind by saying something so gender biased, despicable, and idiotic. She must consider herself a man then, or other wise she'd be signing away her own rights. Of course she can't seem to cast her vote legally as witnessed by the topic of this thread or intelligently so maybe that would be good thing for it to be taken from her, personally. Then maybe she might learn to appreciate it and use it more wisely, if given it back in the future.

If you note my Avatar, you will see how strongly I advocate women's right to the vote. It was fought for with the blood, sweat and tears, of our fore mothers. For that little obnoxious cretin to say we shouldn't have it, simply because the majority of us were too smart to vote for her precious Rethugs, makes me personally want to disown her from our gender completely, thus my previously posted, sarcastic comments. All though I am guessing a lot of men wouldn't want to claim her either.

My comments were not meant to imply prejudice on my part against anyone but the specific individual Ann Coulter.

As for what's wrong with me, probably about a million things, but I'm working on them. ;) "Be patient with me. I'm still evolving."

I may not be gay or transexual, but there are many other prejudices I have to deal with in a day based on who I am.

I deal with it and I do fight with people here who promote stereotypes about people who have to deal with similar issues.

OTOH, I laugh at jokes that I cannot possibly imagine taking personally. This is one of those cases IMHO. Please realize that there are times when a joke is just a joke.

There is a difference between slighting an awful bigoted person (Ann Cult-whore) who hates liberals in the most insane and vile way, and insulting the transgendered. It is, in some fantasy land, not pc to think its odd to be
'transgendered'.

In the real 'reality'...most people think its an oddity. Like
a person who puts tattoos all over their body..including their
face.

Or like a person who has fifty dogs.

Its not that being transgendered is a sin. Its just out of the
norm ...so FAR

You're Ann Coulter. Someone says you are transgendered. Suddenly something which is acceptable to YOU (the real you) becomes something that is a big insult.

As he said today: "Deadlines are important," the president said at a retirement community, less than a week before the last day for most seniors and the disabled to enroll in the program without facing higher prices. "Deadlines help people understand there's finality and people need to get after it."

So why didn't Little Miss "Those People Don't Act Responsibly" reply to her Supervisor of Elections "and git after it?"

Corrupt Coulter isn't by any stretch a "mighty pundit" but she is "mighty pungent."

49. Didn't she once say that women should not be entitled to vote?
Edited on Wed May-10-06 06:02 PM by Bunny
I think she did say that. I'm going to go look for a link.

Edit: Well, yes indeed that's exactly what she said! Looks like her wish will partly come true!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Coulter

<snip>
On a few occasions Coulter has suggested that the constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote should be repealed. In a 14 February 2000 National Review Online article she wrote, "If this ticket doesn't close the gender gap, it's time to repeal the 19th Amendment." On 26 February 2001, she said, " all have to give up their vote". She also argues that banning women from voting would ensure Republican presidents would be elected — as historical voting patterns had shown men had voted in majorities for Republican candidates.

71. Coulter will just run a hit piece on the deputy and supervisor
claiming they're evil liberals who are traitors wanting to squelch her constitutionally protected right to vote. OR will spew forth a litany of accusations that liberals and their big government tax and spend stranglehold have made it too complicated for any reasonable thinking American to cast a ballot.

Time for pie!
