Porter Goss lays bare the Republican playbook.
"Admit nothing, deny everything, and make counteraccusations.'' and he seemed quite proud saying it..

1. When? Where did he say it?

Is this one of those stream of consciousness postings? Are you assuming I'm watching whatever you are?

8. Tiffin is in the heart of GOP country
Small town Ohio, I'm sure many GOP donors serve on their board.

11. The Gilmore family has been big donors
As in U.S. Representative Paul Gilmore's family. I believe that they have a building named after Paul Sr. If I remember right, one of the professor's personally knew Goss and the arrangements were made for him to speak earlier in the year.
Although the area does tend to go Republican, it is not monolithic Republican like it is where I live now. There are actually local party events and Democratic primary candidates who sometimes win in the general election.

10. Commencement speakers are lined up months ahead of time and
there's a lot of competition for big names. It's a publicity thing for the college and I'd bet they were thrilled he got fired.

4. Any links to the text of his statement?
This is important and needs to be documented. A hell of a thing for him to have said the day after they forced him out! There could be more gems in that speech if we look closely.

6. From a completely different angle
It really doesn't say much, but it is different compared to the "official story".

9. What a cynical thing to say in a commencement speech.
Words to live by from a corrupt, bitter, has-been.
