It's official: The students at OSU* are IDIOTS!
(*Oklahoma State University)

They are cheering the Chimp In Chief at their commencement.

It's disgusting.

I'm sure that there are plenty there that support him.

Oklahoma used to be a Democratic stronghold, since then it's become a Republican stronghold.

God knows why.

29. Maybe as they face the reality of going broke filling
up their F 300 picky up trucks, etc., some of these good Oklahoma people will pull their heads out of their butts and realize that The Chimperor is just a Greedy Oil Man. He's "the man" ... "jefe" ... just another shallow elite who cares little about us common folk. I'm listening for a loud "pop" hoping they will all do that en masse, but I won't hold my breath. ;)

Edited on Sat May-06-06 10:20 AM by blonndee
I haven't seen on the local news yet how many protestors there are but last night there were several they interviewed as they were making signs.

Also: I think those were just graduates they interviewed; I'm sure more students will show up, as well as other locals and some Sooners.

On a final note (this is no time for yawning), here’s a personal suggestion I'd like to add. Consider avoiding our planet's greatest recount of violence (the World News) prior to sleep. A healthy dose of laughter instead just might create the stuff pleasant dreams are made of - Mind Over Matter!

12. No, you have to have tickets, which are given to the students to
distribute. Also, I'm sure there are some that faculty and admin give out. Still, probably mainly Bushies, since it's Stillwater.

25. There are a bunch of protesters to be proud of!
I have even quit calling it Stoolwater because of the demonstrators! If got me, a Longhorn, to be nice to OSU people, shelving a lifetime of animosity, my very first live, in person UT football game was against, you guessed it-you guys! So it has done some good.

I have seen a large number of OSU people vociferously opposing *, so take heart & be very proud!

their local recruiter as soon as they receive their diploma.

It's easy to cheer. It's another thing to put yourself on the line and actually enlist and show real support.

300 protest near stadium

By John David Sutter
The Oklahoman

STILLWATER -- A group of about 300 people holding signs declaring President George W. Bush a liar and calling for his impeachment gathered in a boisterous protest about a block away from Boone Pickens Stadium, where he was scheduled to give a commencement speech at 10 a.m.

<snip>

Protestors chanted "Liar" as the president’s helicopter flew overhead. They were met with mixed responses from graduates who walked by. Some graduates said the group was disturbing graduation day ceremonies. Others expressed their solidarity with the group by displaying anti-war messages on their mortarboards.

Across the street from the anti-Bush group stood six people who held signs welcoming the President to Stillwater.

Several graduates gave the smaller group thumbs up signs and clapped as they walked by. The protest remained peaceful with no police intervention.
