WLIB/AAR renews it's lease...?
Some repub nutjob on another site posted an article that said WLIB/AAR is going off the air this summer...

I searched it out and came across some news that AAR is renewing it's lease...anyone heard of this yet...and solid links to show this...?

2. They only WISH it was going off the air.
As far as I understand it, the only issue is the lease. There was a thread about this in GD a couple of days ago. Sorry, don't have a link to it, and I don't have time to look for it right now but I do recall a discussion regarding this.

The progressive talk network Air America says it "will not go silent on the New York City airwaves," following a report in Radio Business Report that WLIB (1190 AM) will switch to other programming when Air America's lease there expires Aug. 31.
Air America declined further comment on "hypothetical speculation." If the report is true, the network must find another station in a tight market.

Radio Business Report says WLIB, Air America's flagship, will carry a different progressive lineup with some local hosts.
