Hi,

I'd urge everyone who can to donate to this fund. It's basically an extension of Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, that caters to horribly wounded vets of Iraq and Afghanistan, mostly amputees.

What is the mission of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund?
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund supports American military personnel who have been severely wounded in the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Fund is constructing a world class state-of-the-art advanced training skills center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas to aid in their treatment and recovery.

What percentage of the donated money is kept for administrative costs?
100% of contributions from the public for this effort go to support military families; no administrative costs are deducted. The Fund’s Board of Trustees underwrites all administrative costs.

How did the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund begin?
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund was formed in October 2001 in response to the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan following the tragic events of 9/11. In October 2003 the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund was established as its own 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization.

You can contribute by credit card online. It's very easy.

Also: Don Imus reported this morning that Halliburton was asked to donate to this fund and refused. I don't know the details...
