Bill Schneider CNN just now--* has a 17% approval rating on
gasoline prices. Hammer him on energy policy or lack of it. And anyone else who covers for him and his administration.

4. Gas Needs To Go To $5.00/Gallon
We're never going to get rid of his true base, which consists of oil company big whigs, and fanatical religious freaks, so we've got to start picking away at what other support he still has amongst regular conservative folk, and nothing will do that better than hitting them in the pocket directly via gas prices. Even though it will be hard on us all.

5. Remember
The same thing happened to his daddy right before the election. His approval rates were high after Gulf War 1 but raising taxes and a spike in oil prices ruined his numbers. With November getting closer and closer and gas prices only going higher this may be what drives more and more indies and moderates to the blue side. Americans can be a lot of things but every politician knows Americans vote with their pocket book.

8. I wonder who is that 17% ?
Maybe I don't want to know. It proves that 17% is a practical zero in polling.

12. I work with a guy who still loves Chimpy .....
He's about 60, extremely learning disabled, works in the mailroom, has a picture of Chimpy in his work area, and talks about how we should all pray for the president.

This is just one story in the Naked City of Backwash.
