Bill Kristol said something to Colbert about "writing his White House

I've been puzzling over this for awhile. Did Kristol know something about Colbert's speech beforehand?

Was he talking about the previous year, somehow?

I'd like to find out exactly what he said/was referring to. They were talking over each other at the time, was hard to follow.

And, therefore, since Colbert's act is a hardcore right-winger, Kristol wrote it for him?

That's my best guess. But he must have known he was going to be at the dinner.

7. No way Krystal wrote or contributed anything re Colbert's performance,

that was Colbert from the first word to the last. Krystal, not unlike other neocons, had underestimated Colbert as was shown but the sheer panic on his face when Colbert started right off on PNAC. That was when Krystal started babbling on about the speech, dinner, etc. Colbert simply played with it once Krystal raised it, again, imo.


Krystal has never struck me as the brightest light-bulb in the box, far from it actually.

8. I was wondering, too

I went to Crooks and Liars to watch the Colbert/Kristol interview and thought that reference very odd.

On the other hand, poor Kristol got beat up so bad he prob'ly thought he was talking in tongues. Silly bastard didn't even know what hit him.
