Freeper email making the rounds...Again (part refuted--help)
Try Doing This...
a.. Try driving around as a Gringo in Mexico with no liability
insurance.. and have an accident...
(Try driving around in this country without insurance and have an accident. You go to jail. There are plenty of WHITE AMERICANS on this side of the border who do not have insurance. I have personally lost THREE cars to people without insurance. None of them were Mexicans. If I am not mistaken, the sleazy lawyers are on our side of the border.)

b.. Enter MEXICO illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas,
international law, or any of that nonsense.

c.. Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical
care for you and your entire family. (This is laughable. I know several illegal immigrants. They demand nothing.)

d.. Demand bilingual nurses and doctors. (The immigrants do not demand this. The hospitals provide them to avoid medical malpractice.)

e.. Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc. (again, illegals do NOT demand anything. Why risk deportation?)

f.. Procreate abundantly. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly
irresponsible reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural United States
thing. You would not understand, pal." (The majority of Hispanic's are practicing Catholics. This means no birth control or no abortion. Kind of like the world that the idiots that send these emails out?)

g.. Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your
rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper. (I live in Texas. I have lived in border towns. I have to say I have NEVER seen a Mexican flag flown by illegal immigrants.)

h.. Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your

children do likewise. (The majority of Spanish speaking immigrants encourage their children to speak English so they can fit in. In fact, the only person that I know that utilizes the ESL program are white people who actually have a mixed Granddaughter. They speak ONLY English, yet take advantage of the program because of her mixed heritage. In other words--white people abusing the system. The horror of that!)

i.. Insist that all products' labels, owner's manuals, instructions,
etc., be written in English as well as Spanish (Again, they don't INSIST. This is done by the manufacturers to solicit business. It is about the money. Instructions also come in French.)

]
j.. Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system. (Am I missing something? Living in border states MY ENTIRE LIFE, neither myself nor my kids nor my granddkids have never encountered such a class. Seems you might be a liar?)

k.. Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other

legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal
presence in Mexico. (Again--this refutes your upper rant. You want these people to carry auto insurance, but you don't want them to have a drivers license. You cannot have it both ways--they can't get insurance without a drivers license. Which do you want them to have?)

l.. Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its
officers.
(Again, these people don't INSIST! More of your lunatic rantings.)

Good luck! Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or
any other country in the world... except right here in the United States...
Land of the naive!
If you agree, pass it on. If you don't, go ahead and try the above in
Mexico or Iran, or just about any other country in the world, for that
matter.

Words of Wisdom: "Support the country you live in...or live in the
country you support"
*God Bless America*

Words of wisdom to YOU! This country was founded on the backs of immigrants, illegal and otherwise. What you exhibit in your lunatic rant is a love of NATIONALISM--not patriotism. There is a difference. Look it up. It will be very close to Naziism.
I love my country. The only thing I fear in this country are morons like you who do not realize that dissent is patriotic.

4. I have a similar liberal list of complaints

a: Stop companies from hiring illegals at sweat shop wages.

Mine's a lot shorter, and doesn't make for a good cut & paste chain letter, but with no incentive to swim the Rio Grande there'll be no illegal immigration "problem".

5. I've crossed into Mexico several times
I never needed to show anyone a license, proof of residency, or anything. There was not even a line. Coming back, I had to stand in line for an hour waiting for someone to check my identification and ask a few basic questions. Further up the road in America, there is usually a checkpoint where all cars are stopped and questioned and maybe searched.

Further, in every Mexican border town I've been in, most stores have bilingual signs, speak English, and IIRC, even have prices listed in dollars and pesos.

AMericans, especially retired Americans, are increasingly buying property in Mexico and living there full time, often in American communities along the coast, with fences and armed guards. It's rather easy to get permission from the Mexican government. I even know Americans who have moved to Mexico and work there, usually in resort areas. Again, rather simple compared to crossing into America to work.

We are the ones who control our border, put up tight restrictions to immigration, etc. I have had to help employees born in America and with full American citizenship fill out extensive paperwork on job security, income, health, and legal history just so they could bring the teen-age daughter of their Mexican wife to America to live with them. It took over a year of paperwork and meetings with immigration to finally get it authorized.

There's an old joke: What do you call someone who speaks two languages? Bilingual. What do you call someone who speaks three languages? Trilingual. What do you call someone who speaks one language? American.

The email is ludicrous, and shows no knowledge of immigration at all. And absolutely no knowledge of America or what being an American means. The writer should move to a country more to his liking: Saudi Arabia, perhaps. He is not good enough to live here.

8. I was gonna mention those expat communities
around Guadalajuara.
Many Americans live in them and live well for around $500 a month.
It is one of the hottest retirements out there, however, they do recommend that you have your social security checks direct deposited because there is a problem with theft of mail.

11. Those things are so idiotic...
I learned Spanish as a young teen-ager because my brother was dating, and later married, a girl whose mother was from Mexico. I went on later to marry her first cousin. Although we divorced years ago, we were married for twenty years, and I spoke Spanish on a daily basis. My ex came to this country when he was about 3 years old, and spoke English with no trace of an accent. His father was a doctor, and fluent in 5 languages.

The irony is that because my ex and I didn't speak Spanish to our children, they never learned the language. My brother never learned Spanish, and my sister-in-law didn't teach their children Spanish, either. Now my niece and my own children scold us for putting them at a disadvantage by not being bilingual. My brother died many years ago, my sister-in-law remarried, and was widowed again, and moved away.

Recently, I visited my niece, and my sister-in-law was visiting also. We did the same thing we did years and years ago when our children were young...conducted our conversations in Spanish, while my daughter and niece rolled their eyes and accused us of talking about things we didn't want them to know about. My children, and my niece, would have more opportunities today if we parents hadn't been foolish, and not taught them a second language.

As far as places of business are concerned, it only makes sense to have people fluent in languages their customers use, and Spanish isn't the only language in demand. I wish more Americans would take the trouble to learn a second, or even third language. It is so helpful in making people more accepting and tolerant of each other, and is a valuable thing to have.
