Packers new Linebacker A.J Hawk is a die-hard Republican.
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=419794

snip:

As he matured throughout college, Hawk became a fan of late Arizona Cardinal and U.S. soldier Pat Tillman. Hawk wears his hair long in honor of his idol and took up hunting and target shooting, also hobbies of Tillman's.

A Republican and believer in the war in Iraq, Hawk once told Tressel that if he hadn't become a football player, he would have been a Navy SEAL.

As a Huge Pack fan, I don't care right now about the fact he is a idiot, The Packers needed a future pro-bowl linebacker. I just hope he keeps his politics out of it and just plays some kick ass football!

1. If he's such a believer, why the hell hasn't he enlisted?

3. I wonder what he thinks of the revelations
that Tillman despised Bush and didn't support the war in Iraq. Another case of selective attention?

If he's such a Tillman/war fan, then why isn't he over there right now? We need to contact this guy and ask him.

6. Who cares?
He is just a football player who can hopefully help the Packers. He does have a right to his opinions, no matter how misguided. GO PACK!

10. If he hadn't become a football player... ummm.. that's a CHOICE.
Not like.. 'if his leg and arm hadn't fallen off spontaneously', or 'if he hadn't discovered a fatal allergy to water', he would have become a Navy Seal. That is the ultimate in cowardice.. naming something courageous that you COULD have done, and chose not to. Like he gets some fucking brownie points for thinking about it. HOW could he say Tillman was his hero, considering Tillman DID what that poseur can only talk about? ANd.. does he realize how much Pat Tillman opposed the war?
