Thurs. night, didn't Wm. Kristol take credit for writing Colbert's speech?

When he was guesting on The Colbert Report on Thursday night and before the interview started, didn't Kristol make a point of THANKING COLBERT FOR LETTING HIM BE THE AUTHOR OF COLBERT'S SPEECH TONIGHT AT THE DINNER?

Does anyone remember this? WTF was that all about anyway? If Kristol was trying to play some sort of joke on Colbert, it surely did backfire because there's no way that Kristol wrote that.

A. He's not that funny, and
B. He would never skewer the press for being so easy on the prez these past 5 years, which was Colbert's whole point tonight.

BTW, for anyone who missed the Kristol interview, it's a MUST-SEE! Colbert has been especially at the top of his game this past week!
