Colbert tasteless? You've got ot be kidding me.
Little Lord Pissypants actually made fun of our dying sons and daughters when he pranced around looking for WMD's under the tables. Dems should remind the "outraged" corporate media of that when they're asked. That was far beyond tasteless, and yet, the corporate lapdogs laughed at that, didn't they?:grr:

2. Who called Colbert "tasteless"? Most people commenting
at DU and Crooks and Liars seemed to have liked Colbert.

what surely will be the corporate media's talking points tomorrow. My understanding, from reading DU, is that it's already started. No one at DU has suggested that that I know of.

20. Not tasteless at all
most WHCD entertainers have gotten much bigger groans. It's expected for the comedian to get right up to the line, or even cross it. The audience expects that. This one was not close to disrespectful by WHCD standards.

No, but I think it will begin in the media tomorrow
unless they just decide to ignore it, and they do with so many things that make their chimp look bad.

8. Yeah ...

Two posters that I've noticed. One simply seemed clueless (i.e. didn't watch it) while the other was, ahem, a relative newbie.

19. there's another one who started a thread, filled with unsupported
assertions, and who's quite full of himself

really annoying, but fun to see him get hoist on his own petard of fatuous illogic

22. Yeah ...

That was apparently started after I wrote this.

I've been going 'round and 'round and have finally reached the point I'm just going to leave it alone. Something about wrestling with pigs in the mud applies here.

9. and they laughed HARD, too! harder than ANYTHING Colbert said.
thanks for reminding me how PISSED OFF I was when I saw the craven reaction in the audience to that disgusting display

that reaction answered a LOT of questions about exactly where the M$M stands: clearly in the Corporate WH corner

11. Actions have consequences.
It's time the media whores take responsibility for their behavior. They have failed their country miserably. How DARE they complain about this. They are our FOURTH ESTATE...their job is to protect the citizens of this country by reporting the truth. The truth.

12. I don't know how well it was received
When he started dropping jokes, there was alot of hesitation and not alot of laughter on the audience's part. Sometimes there were "Ohhhhh"s spreading throughout the room when he mentioned our government being more useless than that of Iraq or White House Press secretary the second hardest job next to America's ambassador to Iraq. I don't think the conservatives wanted to laugh, but wanted to look good in front of the media so they let out a soft chuckle. Lets just say the people who were in the room didn't seem happy with his brand of humor.

Also, that video he did interviewing for the job of press secretary went entirely too long and stopped being even remotely funny after about 30 seconds. I almost fell asleep. Literally.

I sorta have doubts after the vivisections that took place this evening.

Mrs Wilson looked radiant in her Armani though.

23. Exactly kickingdonkey
Imus's was far more tasteless. His was edgy even for a WHCD where the entertainer is expected to go right up to the line of good taste.

I think a lot of people worried about this one just have never seen one before.
