Rush quotes on mandatory drug sentencing?
I'm trying to find them. I'm going to suggest that we get busy and bombard the prosecutor and the Palm Beach Post (where Rush lives) with his very own words when it comes to mandatory sentencing.

1. The deal is done. The prosecutor obviously has been compromised.
If the Pusbag was black and poor he'd be in the criminal system for life.

2. I want to fight. We have to figure out a way to fight this
shoddy prosecution.

3. I have a link here to an anti-Limbagh website ...
rushlimbaughonline.com

It has loads of dirt on the pilonidal-cyst-on-legs and a section dedicated to refuting Rush.

4. These are more about drug abuse in general, but maybe
they're a good start.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

"It's kind of like sentencing. A lot of people say that we have a heavy sentence for this crime and a light sentence for another crime, and what we ought to do is reduce the heavy sentence so it's more in line with the other. Wrong. In most cases we ought to increase the light sentence and make it compatible with the heavy sentence, and be serious about punishment because we are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country."

“We have alcoholics and drug addicts in our society, don’t we? And what do we say about them? ‘Well, they can’t help it. Why, it’s genetic. Why, they have a disease. Why, put one thimbleful of scotch in front of them and they can die.’ We totally exempt them from any control over their lives, do we not? Some athlete will spend two years snorting lines of coke. ‘He can’t help it. You know, it’s – it’s just – it’s not – it’s – it’s genetic. These people – they’re predisposed to having this addictive syndrome. They – they can’t help.’ Yeah, like that line of cocaine just happened to march into the hotel, go up to the athlete’s room and put itself right there in front of him on his blotter.”

“…Send the people who want to do drugs to London and Zurich, and let’s be rid of them.”

“We’re going to let you destroy your life. We’re going to make it easy and then all of us who accept the responsibilities of life and don’t destroy our lives on drugs, we’ll pay for whatever messes you get into." (The Rush Limbaugh Show, Dec. 9, 1993)

6. I thought there was another charge they were pursuing as well.
Something about his house maid buying drugs for him in a Denny's parking lot and she wore a wire. What ever happened to that crime? Just vanished I guess along with about fifty grand of Rush"s "hard earned" money...

7. We need to be outraged and loud about this case.
Rush has been preaching that this country needs the strictest and most intolerant drug laws in the world. He made his oxy bed and now it's time he lay in it.

Send LTTE, to the prosecutor, to the mayor of palm beach, to anyone you can think of and make sure they know he's getting preferential treatment.
